Enjoyed visiting The Coal Yard in York, SC. The food and service is very good. I liked that it’s not very big, so no loud crowds. Very inviting atmosphere. Friendly folks here. Also, can reserve a separate area for a small group of friends or party. Will definitely be back.

I never knew this place was here. We went for lunch with a large group and they were able to handle it just fine. Friendly staff. My food was just awesome! I had the Lesser Tater for $10 and it was just the right amount of food for me. Two of my friends had the Greater Tater for $12 and it was so much food they are going to be enjoying it tonight and tomorrow. I hope to come back soon!

This place is really only good to have a drink at the bar. Ate here when I first moved to York and the food was mediocre then. Went there today because I was desperately hungry and decided to leave after 20 minutes of waiting for the staff to see if I’d like a drink because, at this point, I feel food would have been asking too much. Understandably the place was full of empty tables so it was obviously too busy to serve our table. I’d recommend not wasting your time at this place. It’s worth the drive to go somewhere else.

Hit or miss. Decent bar but the bartender isn’t always very friendly. Never had anything memorable to eat there. Waitresses have always been very nice. Food comes out correct, just nothing special to me. Personal preference.

First of all… I didn’t know of of this place and it’s absolutely amazing. I didn’t discover it until tonight. Prices are reasonable and atmosphere makes me feel as if I were back home again. Shanna did an amazing job taking care of me at my table, she is the best. The drinks were amazing and music bingo is awesome. Everyone should go here. I will most definitely be a return customer.

The Coal Yard has an excellent menu, filled with eclectic burgers and sandwiches. My favorite item on the menu are the steak bites, which are served with spicy ranch. They have great drink specials and Wednesdays are half price for ladies. They always have live entertainment on the weekend and you are guaranteed to have an awesome time talking to people on the deck. It’s one of my favorite places to come to, because the staff is friendly and helpful, food is great, and the atmosphere is awesome. They have made some changes, but they are definitely for the better! =)
