Fun spot for Italian with a modern twist served by one of the best teams in town. This place just has that “it” factor that makes you feel cool just by virtue of sitting in the space. It’s dark and intimate, but lively, especially if you are seated in the “secret” back bar. Nearly everything on the menu is inventive and on point. We had a couple of small hiccups on our last visit, but those are unusual and always well-compensated. Equally great choice for a weekday date night or a weekend dinner for a larger party.

This classy restaurant, complete with a hidden speakeasy-like bar in the back, exceeded all our expectations. The wait staff was friendly with excellent service. Our attentive server had a thorough understanding of both the menu and off-menu items. All the staff seem to be always in sync ensuring our table was never too crowded or empty, always serving food and drinks in a timely manner.

I absolutely loved coming here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. Our server was very friendly and definitely wowed us. The smokey flavor to the Branzino fish and broccoli was amazing. The crispy potatoes were cooked so perfectly. And the gnudi is aged for six days and woooow! The manager Harry came by and was super nice and offered to get us a reservation anytime! They have a secret speakeasy you might get invited into.

This is a hidden gem in Dallas, I have stopped by this restaurant and I must admit was impressed with the ambiance, food quality and the service. Summer served us phenomenally with her recommendations and made us to create a great memory for the night. I would highly encourage you to try the pasta, and the steak.

Nice place, good looking food, okay flavors, overpriced, awful service. I carefully chose and reserved this place to meet a couple of friends we hadn’t seen for +6 years, and we felt rushed out by the waitress, she was constantly coming to our table asking what else we were ordering. One of those many times I told her we were ordering dessert but in a while since we were chatting and catching up, she immediately replied “ok, so what else can I get you now?” I then said “just the check, please” She knew she made us uncomfortable and tried to offer us “dessert on her” but we politely rejected it and left to get dessert somewhere else :/

Had dinner at the Charles last night while visiting Dallas and was very pleased. Cara was my bartender and she had excellent recommendations for food and wine. She was attentive and friendly and made it a great experience for me. The food itself was innovative, with flavors you wouldn’t normally think to combine. I ordered the king salmon crudo which was exceptional. The crab ravioli was my next choice and while I LOVED the flavor (just a hint of curry with some heat), the dish came out a little cooler than I’d like and the pasta slightly chewy (probably just needed another couple minutes to cook). Still cleaned my plate and have no regrets ordering this dish – it was tasty!) I ordered the chocolate dessert and I probably could have done without it. The candied gooseberries were a little tart combined with the chocolate, which I just didn’t enjoy. I’m a chocolate purist though, so just my personal preference. I’d still HIGHLY recommend visiting The Charles, and if I had the chance to go again, I absolutely would.

Very cute and intimate spot for a date night or small group. We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were delicious. We then shared the chicken diavoli, spicy creste de gallo, and the bucatini carbonara. Everything was tasty but the carbonara was delicious and little different as it had poblano in the sauce! My only complaint is that the shrimp were not deveined so we ended up picking them out of the dish.

I cannot say enough good things about The Charles. We celebrated our 10th anniversary at The Charles. My wife and I had such a great time! Once the staff found out that we were celebrating a special occasion, they made us feel so special including checking in multiple times and their service and concern was just out of this world. The food was awesome but we really cared about the experience which was brilliant! This was one of the best restaurants I have been to and highly recommend it. Our server (David) was just amazing and cared about our experience.
