It was our 1st time here. We will be back!!!The food was amazing!!! My steak was done to perfection and the scallops were perfect. My husband got the Steak Diane it was done perfectly. The service was phenomenal! Our server recommended several opinions on the menu. I also wanted steak and Scallops which she made happen as it wasn’t an option on the menu. The dessert was out of this world. The atmosphere was amazing. Great view from the dining room overlooking the pond with water features.

A little overrated imo. Used to be a really nice place years ago but has slipped over time. Steak was good, lobster was dry/over cooked, everything else was on the salty side. Hubby’s lamb was tough and over cooked as well. Nice presentation though. Had to ask for bread.

The steak was cooked perfectly. The stuffed potato was absolutely delicious. The vibe is upscale. Our waitress was on top of it. She was quick and super friendly. We found this little gem of a restaurant on our way back home to Florida from Ohio. If we pass back threw ever again we will definitely eat here again.

Vintage Atmosphere Known to the Locals Very difficult to find, but Well, worth the trip. Service was 5 star. I recommend the Bree cheese appetizer The salmon was done to perfection. Look forward to my next visit. One of the best meals I’ve ever had.

When in Beckley, WV look no further than The Char for your fine dining experience. While dining ask for Theresa or Donna because they will make you feel right at home. The Char offers an amazing setting against a nice pond and wilderness. With plenty of windows you feel like you’re at a cozy retreat as you enjoy delicious food. My experience has been with dinner both with business meetings and personally. I highly recommend a variety of dishes from the steak to crab cakes to salads to tiramisu. As you travel southbound on the WV Turnpike make a detour to this fine establishment!
