We had high hopes seeing all the reviews and having people tell us about eating here. We ordered one fried and one grilled seafood platter. The grilled shrimp was awesome. The grilled fish was cooked perfectly but way too salty. The fried food was over cooked. The fries tasted old and as if they were refried. All around disappointed. Wasn’t offered a discount, paid 50 bucks for food we didn’t eat much of. Took the rest home to feed to the dog. He didn’t even want it.

Quality food at a reasonable price. Everything we had was prepared fresh and cooked to order. Gumbo is flavorful, smooth, and just the right spice. Fried chicken has thin flavorful batter and remains moist. Fried squash was a pleasant surprise – more like squash chips in cornmeal batter. Delicious! Our new favorite resturant in East Texas. Read the Gideon provided Bible while you wait. Go away blessed physically and spirtually. Staff were also so friendly and kind toward us.

Unwelcoming atmosphere. Smells like…. I dunno, pine sol? Uncomfortable chairs. Extremely slow service, but the girls are nice… the food was good. We all had seafood platters, some fried, some grilled. Would return, but not when I’m in a hurry to be anywhere the rest of the day and maybe bring a seat cushion…

Three days without Credit Card services and counting. But the reason the rest room says only men because for weeks no replacement on toilet seat. Guess no hardware store in the area.

This place is awesome!!! The people are sooo friendly and the food is delicious. The fried pork chop was huge and so tasty. The grilled chicken breast came with onions and bell peppers, got twice baked potatoes and mac n cheese- yummm! And you gotta try the fried pecan pie . So good we went back day later while still in town. Had gumbo, and fried chicken salad- both delish and just loved the way they did chicken strips!!!

This place knows how to fry some seafood, the shrimp and catfish were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The homemade fries are excellent. Can’t go wrong here, good portions and prices.

Food was flavorless greasy and soggy. French fries were soggy/ greasy. Shrimp had no seasoning greasy and soggy. The Hushpuppys were flavorless. Service was very slow, and they add 18% gratuity even with bad service also 4% more if you pay with a card everyone else only has 3% greedy much?

Absolutely delicious food. We’ve been there multiple times, and have been blown away with how amazing the steak is, but also big fans of the burgers and especially the seasoned red potatoes! Huge helpings, but be prepared to wait a little bit as they do cook everything fresh and it takes a while. I give it five stars on the cooking and taste/quality of food… Minus one star because the interior is very dated with older ripped up tablecloths, the chair I sat on was really sticky so I had to wipe it down, and the lemonade is just pure sugar and does not taste good… just small stuff like that. But all in all, great experience with food every time we go. I hope someday they open up for breakfast! Those sliced seasoned red potatoes are absolutely to die for if you bring it home and toss it in a skillet with some eggs and cheese on top!
