I stopped by after seeing all the amazing reviews and honestly, I was disappointed. The sandwich was super soggy and lacked toppings. The lettuce was browning, I had two little slices of tomato and there wasn’t even a full layer of meat. There was two slices of ham on it. Although the sandwich was minimal, the bread, meat and cheese actually tasted really good and fresh. The corn dogs were freezer burnt. The nachos were horrible, worse than gas station nachos by far. The Chips were beyond stale and the cheese sauce was just bitter. We stopped by around 3pm Wednesday. I wouldn’t recommend this place at this time, but hopefully if I get a chance to try this again the food will be as amazing as the customer service!

Great sandwich shop with bread that is amazingly soft! The staff was extremely friendly, and the 1/2 subs were huge. I highly recommend going here for a freshly made sub! We will definitely come back.

Used to work a block away from Captains Galley 15 years ago. While driving north on I90 decided to take the South Beloit exit and have lunch. So glad we did. Chris the owner was still there making some of the BEST sub sandwiches I have had the pleasure of eating. What a hidden gem of a sandwich shop, stop in you won’t regret it!

This little place was a happy surprise find for me when I went to the Post Office in South Beloit late this morning. I love Vienna beef hot dogs, it was almost lunch time and I was hungry. A Vienna beef hot dog for $2.89 – and the real deal at that! A pic of the menu below will whet your appetite.

This place hands down puts all other sub places to shame. I wanna give it 4.5 stars because I miss their old bread, but otherwise for a home owned local business this is the place to go!
