Stopped in on a Tuesday evening (Aug 16 2023) for dinner with the family while on a road trip. Service was pretty good overall. We were seated promptly with very little wait even though they were quite busy. Enjoyed the atmosphere with lots of TVs for watching various sporting events. The themed decor was interesting and created several conversations. Drinks arrived quickly. Our waitress was ready to take our order in a very timely manner but we needed a few minutes to look over the menu. Eventually my son went with a cheeseburger, daughter had the ground buffalo tacos, wife had the buffalo meatloaf and I had a crispy chicken sandwich. All of our meals were really delicious. They mistakenly brought my daughter chicken tacos but they corrected it almost immediately. Burger was large and tasty. Wife loved the meatloaf, it looked very upscale. Like a 4 star restaurant preparation. My daughter really enjoyed her tacos. It was quite expensive but you know that’s going to be the case in these tourist towns so it wasn’t unexpected. But I will say at least the good was very good. We definitely enjoyed the meal.

Great food (we both had the Cowboy burger), great atmosphere, and good service. We had great service the first night, returned the next night (same order), and service was good, but… initial service was great and fast. We got a refill on our sodas without asking so we could listen to the live music. However, we had to ask for our check a few times.

This place rocked! Excellent food and even though it was packed and Friday night, we had our food in under 25 minutes! The Bison Meatloaf was phenomenal. My friend had the potroast and said it was cooked to perfection. Neat atmosphere for a true Yellowstone experience. Friendly and tentative wait staff. Highly recommend this place!

Stopped by for a late lunch (2pm ish) and the place was mostly full. Seat yourself at an open table and the staff will come take your order. Menu has a lot of options. We went with the Black and Blue salad (steak was perfect medium rare and seasoned so there was flavor but not drowned in salt), and Jam Burger (big tasty burger!). Food came out quickly and it was a great experience overall.

We have been to the Buffalo Bar four times this year and it was great every time. Everything on the menu is good. This last time we had the chicken tacos, Old Faithful which is a pot roast sandwich, and the Salty Sea Dog which is cod fish and chips. Amazing! Highly recommend!

I enjoyed our experience at this restaurant with the exception of the 10 minute wait for any of the staff to pay attention to us. The sign said to seat ourselves and then we waited. The atmosphere is warm with the walls decorated with an assortment of animal heads including bison and a water buffalo. The casino is a small walled off area with electronic slot machines. They have an intriguing menu of drinks, a long list of draft beers and a decent collection of wines, foreign and domestic. The pot roast sandwich I had, the “Old Faithful”, was loaded with meat and plenty of flavor. The steak in the salad was cooked just right. Incidentally, on their website, they have a wait list for when it gets busy and you can get an idea of how long a wait there is. Be aware that, as with most food businesses in West Yellowstone, if you don’t pay with cash, they add a 3% surcharge to the bill. Being short staffed may explain the wait upon arrival but a server carried on a lengthy conversation with a couple next to us while we were being ignored. We will have to see if service improves next time because we will be going back.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Buffalo Bar in Idaho and I have to say, it exceeded all of my expectations! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a rustic western decor that really set the tone for a great evening. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. But the real highlight of the night was the food – it was absolutely delicious! There were generous servings and with a unique and varied menu everyone found something they loved. Overall, I would highly recommend the Buffalo Bar to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Idaho. The food, atmosphere, and service were all outstanding – I can’t wait to go back!

Based on the crowded parking lot at 2:30pm on a Thursday we decided to venture in. Place was rocking. Sat at the counter just off the bar. Server was there almost immediately. Very efficient. My husband had the Country Fried Buffalo Steak. Perfect. Everything. The gravy, the garlic toast, the potatoes and the Buffalo Steak ✅. I had the Buffalo Tacos and with chips and salsa. The Buffalo meat was very tender and not game-y at all. I added green chipotle sauce. Excellent. Draft beer menu with all local brews. Our bill was $69 for four beers and our food items.

I was so excited to come back here after our visit in Sept 2021, but sadly completely different experience this time. While they seated us quickly, they were not prepared to serve us well. The server was rushed, and we really only saw them 4 times – drink order, food order, drop off check, and drop off receipt. No refills. No check-in, etc.
