We were bused in as part of a conference outing & meal. I thought we would get to chose from a limited menu since there were about 70 of us. To my surprise each of us got to choose from the full menu. I can’t stress enough how amazing the wait staff were! Thank you to the wait staff!! The food was amazing – thank you to the unseen heroes in the kitchen & the bar staff. Seriously if I had a restaurant I would try to hire the seen & unseen staffers away. I saw some in our enormous group order several alcoholic drinks and appetizers and others order burgers or steaks or salads. And everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and drinks. I hope I can get back here on my own to ck out the cute town and dine here again under quieter conditions.

Not bad! Had the Salmon & butternut squash w/pecans, and a wedge salad. For dessert the bread pudding was pretty good, only slightly dense with a spicy note of allspice or nutmeg. Whip cream balanced it better.

Stumbled across this place while on a business trip and was pleasantly surprised! The downtown area was great and inside the restaurant was great. We were immediately approached by very friendly staff. The food was amazing and the drinks were wonderful. Definitely a recommended place to eat.

The food was delicious. Our server failed to tell us about the special which was disappointing as we would have definitely tried it. What we had was delicious (Burger, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and fried catfish) We sat out on the front patio and had to move inside due to the flies. Once inside we enjoyed our meal. We will definitely return!

Service was very good. One appetizer had more banana pepper rings than calamari so our server brought us some more calamari. The fried mushrooms were also very good. The bourbon glazed salmon was some of the best I’ve ever had comparable to some I had fresh recently in Alaska. Crab cakes, fried shrimp plate and burgers were ordered by others in our group of 7 and all were pleased with their meals. It is set in a historic old building at the end of Main St in Midway. Very charming and cool. Great bourbon selection btw.

Worked with JD on a luncheon for 38. Couldn’t be more happy with the the quality of the food, the professional service, and the delightful atmosphere. JD couldn’t have been more accommodating to work with. The restaurant is located in a charming town with an inviting vibe. I would recommend the Brown Barrel to anyone looking for meal or event.

I’ve been here 3 times. 2 times everything is terrific. Food is as requested and served warm. Beverages are cool and delicious. Customer service is delightful. The second attempt (which almost stopped me from trying a third) was a Wed late afternoon. Poor service, order cold, incorrect 3 times.

Really cool atmosphere. Nice small town vibes , friendly people , nice selection of food and bar menu . Nice little get away from the franchise restaurants that’s every where these days . I will definitely come back again and again

Had a great ride with a group of bikers exploring some of Kentucky’s covered bridges along with my brother and sister which is few and far between, as suggested from one of the group to stop here for a little refreshments and relax from the ride and heat. We called ahead and some had food, some had snacks and we all and refreshments and talked and joked a little about the ride. Not much to say about the food as I only had some tasty soft pretzel style bread and beer cheese dip which was yummy, but the atmosphere was cooling and welcoming. The service was prompt with getting us cold drinks, It was a nice choice and added pleasure to the ride. Thank you!

I’m not sure with the amount of business this place gets that the owner can’t find a way to turn the air conditioning on on any day, much less one of the hottest days of the year. The thermostat right now reads 81°. Food and service always great but whoever owns this joint should step out of his refrigerator at home and step into this furnace at the restaurant so that we the customers don’t suffocate while we eat our food.
