I found another “Hidden Gem” in San Antonio next to the airport ! I had the Meatloaf sandwich and Deviled Eggs. Best sandwich I’ve eaten in months !!!

A sandwich always tastes better when someone else makes it. I’ve had Brown Bag on my to do list for awhile, but actually didn’t know where it was located. It’s kinda hidden in the outskirts if the airport. I ordered a ham and Swiss on a spinach wrap with potato salad. Very tasty sandwich. Didn’t care for the potato salad, but more of a preference thing. Don’t like the chunks of celery, but other probably will. Staff was super friendly and the store is clean and comfortable.

I recently read about this place and i drive by often so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Ruben and deviled eggs. Both were delicious and well made. Don’t let the small size of this place fool you. It’s worth checking out.

The cashier greeted me at the door and had a friendly demeanor. I was disappointed that for the cost of the sandwich, the bread was the basic small store bought loaf bread, and the flavor was average. Also the time the food is prepared and served to the table needs improvement. My wait was over 15 minutes for two sandwiches and a side of potato salad. I enjoyed the colors used to decorate inside, however the venue is a portable building and was nothing impressive.

The sandwich was good. A good bit of meat on it. I got the special on sour dough. I also got a large drink (20oz) and stuffed jalapeños. They were just bit sized. The sandwich was a LOT smaller than I would have liked and the entire meal with a tip was just about $15.

Friendly staff, quick service. The sandwiches were great, good quality and decent price. The buttermilk pie was also good and the chocolate chip cookie was lacking for me. It had a mild taste and did not give off what I would call a chocolate chip cookie. It was mostly hard throughout and not as sweet as I expected. Overall I would go back.

This place is not highly advertised but it needs to because I drove past there 20 times before I stopped. When I finally did, it was worth every penny. The menu has a great variety of sandwiches to blow your mine. You have to try them.

I went back yesterday 4/6/23 I always use to eat lunch there in 2015. Finally was in there and ordered my usual southwest sandwich with no avocado and a cookie. Was charged $19 and some change for a sandwich. It’s average size sandwich. No drink no chips. Crazy priced and then they still put avocado on it. Which I hate. What a waste. Definitely changed since I used to go. Prices are outrageous and the cookie tasted old and like a freezer.

I’m a huge traditional sandwich fan. It’s so hard to find delicious good sandwiches made right in SA. These are! I find ‘subs’ too stodgy. These sandwiches are perfect. The bread is fresh. It’s a little gem of a place that has great fillings. I love their choices and the pies are so delicious. I literally drive across town to eat here. Perfect lunch. Reliable. Clean. Home style. Sometimes you don’t have to reinvent something that works! I hope they stay forever. Just when I fancy a yummy sandwich this is my go to. Highly recommended.
