We were excited to try this spot after reading about it in the latest leawood magazine. Unfortunately we were disappointed overall. The service was ok. The waitress was friendly and knew the menu. We ordered several items and found most of them to be lukewarm and bland. The exception was the kids breakfast sandwich and the veggie market omelette. Both of those were hot and tasty. The biscuit and gravy was lukewarm at best. I question whether the gravy is being held at an adequate temperature. The grits were hot but flavorless with no seasoning whatsoever. The butter comes in sealed little packets and is a spread so doesn’t really add much flavor. The French toast was also barely warm. The restaurant was not busy and they had more than adequate wait staff. We even saw the manager/owner that we knew from the picture in the article. We thought he might come over and ask how our meal was since we left a lot on our plates but he seemed to be focused on other things besides the guest experience. I will tell you that all the photos you see came to a total of $37 so it definitely is budget-friendly.

One of our favorite brunch spots! Reasonable prices and delicious breakfast items that you can’t get anywhere else in Johnson County like a breakfast torta! I love all the standard brunch options but with an Hispanic twist. The staff is always very friendly as well. The atmosphere is pleasant and always clean.

Very tasty breakfast spot. Besides your regular breakfast fare there are plenty of delicious other options like chilaquiles or huevos rancheros. The service is great and very helpful. Plenty of seating and space.

Went there with my Young Adults group from Church. The place had a good atmosphere with friendly service. I had the Biscuit Sandwich and it was surprisingly good. Overall a good experience, and I will be back in the future.

This used to be a great, and affordable breakfast location. However, the pricing on their website does not match the pricing in the restaurant. When you visit the restaurant it is easily 50% more expensive than it is with the pricing on their website. Part of the reason why we recently visited was because we saw the website pricing. So we were shocked when we got there and everything. Across-the-board was way more expensive. Even the pricing of the special was different on the menu than what the waitress had told us and billed us. They were just a lot of inconsistencies. The biscuits and gravy are fine. The biscuit is tasty but it’s very clear the gravy is Cisco gravy with some sausage added to it. It’s also not the most warm. The last time I visited, I had the fruity chimichanga and the inside was still frozen when it was delivered. It had to be sitting back. However, the food is tasty and the weight staff is friendly and there is never a line so there’s still a great and affordable place to come for breakfast.

This has to be THE BEST HIDDEN TREASURE in the Kansas City area! When you go out to eat, Yes, it’s about the food, which as you can see clearly in my pictures that they Don’t disappoint with their very high quality, Amazingly delicious food but it’s always more than just the food! From when you walk in, always greeted with a very warm welcome, their atmosphere is so clean, appealing & comforting! With all the vibrant show case of plants, positive & motivational sayings you will notice hanging from their walls, all the way to the very pleasant music they play! From the owner, Louis, who you’ll find making sure he is personally at tables making for sure that his customers are always happy, to his very wonderful staff that you’ll find are passionate about serving you & your loved ones , guaranteeing your having the Best experience possible! I eat out ALOT! I am very familiar with all the high end restaurants in Kansas city but , The Breakfast Spot, is a very Special place! For the very affordable price you get here, you can’t go wrong folks! If you haven’t tried it, it’s a MUST! Share with people because I wish I had known about this place before I found it! And SERIOUSLY check out their very well rounded menu, it’s EVERYTHING! So if I could give 10 Stars ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ I Would! The ONLY complaint that I could ever think of is I wish they were open 24/7 365 because that’s how Great they are! My all time favorite brunch place! And Oh did I mention their COFFEE ☕or any of the other amazing line of drinks! GO CHECK THEM OUT! Your Welcome!

Menus were black and white on paper. Took me a while to see that they had Waffles but they tasted great,were huge and crispy. Biscuit and gravy was Ok. Fruit was very fresh. Hash Browns needed to be crispier but waiter was nice and had them browned again.

Edit: I was genuinely excited to find this place and originally left a 5-star review. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear my first experience can be counted on as a consistent experience. Second visit was mediocre at best and the food was cold, dry and flavorless. Tried one more time today and it was straight up gross. Biscuits and gravy were gelatinous with a slimy texture.

Great environment! New event space and expanded tables and chairs for the restraunt hours. Great service and the food is absolutely fabulous. As every food service is having trouble with keeping help, I did not notice this being a problem. FANTASTICO! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
