Yes I know this is an Five Star Review of a simple waterside old school seafood summer cafe. These are now in my life my favorite kind of restaurants of all. I grew up on these in the summers with my family. Now I seek them out all over the County and in New England, most recently Maine and RI. Boondocks is perfect version. Easy in easy out, order from a counter, load your own ice bucket. Compact menu with specials, some of which have a kick to them like my fav Tuna Bites. Twin lobster weeknight special, terrific lobster roll and crab cakes. In a marina right on the dock with river, boat and swan views. A modern take on a classic summer dining form. Good owner, good staff, hard work. Breezy open space good in the heat. Reflective roof!

This has quickly become one of our go-to places – very informal and relaxed, fun atmosphere, right on the water next to a marina. Don’t expect anything fancy – wooden picnic tables on a patio right on water’s edge. The way we love it 🙂 Food is OK, but nothing special. You come here for the atmosphere, not the food – except maybe for the lobster special! And the seafood gumbo is also pretty good. Bring cash, as they don’t accept credit or debit cards.

Great little spot with good food and friendly people. It’s cash only but has an ATM onsite. I had calamari and lobster roll which were delicious if you like that sort of thing. It’s on the water def a place to check out if you want some seafood when you’re in the area.

Stopped for dinner..the flounder sandwich was good! The lobster was good cooked perfect served with blackened potatoes..not good!!! House salad for $ 14 was a bowl of arugula 4 walnuts and some cheese…not worth $14…but the big disappointment was shrimp scampi ..dinner $21.00 2 spoonfuls of rice and a few shrimp on the side ..not even a child’s portion.
