Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch,we came up river by boat. Docked up just down from Restaurant. Cafeteria style, order at front desk and pay. Take a seat where there is a clean table. Pick up your own water and silverware on way to table. They give you a number and holder to place on table to locate you. They bring your drinks to you and food order. They do have adult drinks and tap beer from local brewing companies. Food was very good and fresh,and hot. Drinks were also good.

Great ambience, good food. Although short staffed, they were welcoming and attentive to ask if we needed anything. We ordered Walleye fish & chips, crispy chicken strips and tap beer. The food was fresh and crispy, however I feel that $22 for fish and chips was pricey. Will visit again to try other items on their menu.

Food was AMAZING. The Lucy Burger was so good, the cod was excellent, and the fries were like State Fair fries. Gotta dip them in garlic aioli, too! Servers were very helpful, and we got our food super-fast. Definitely would eat here again!

Wonderful staff and view to behold. Food was so good. Martini gave me a buzz. Did not get to take pictures of food. We sat on the lounge chairs outside to wait it out a bit so I can ride my bike back to our room safely. Great drink menu!

So you order your food when you walk in and they give you a number and you seat yourself. My wife’s strawberry lemonade was the first thing to arrive. It tasted like fake powdered lemonade or something like that, maybe the minutemade lemonade from a can. Horrible!!! The drink was $3.75 and then another $1.00 for strawberry flavor. Had to get our own waters and silverware with no one to point out where anything was. My wife switched to drinking sprite and I got my diet Coke. We both thought our drinks were watered down. A waitress came by once to check if our food was to our liking. Never returned again but was highly attentive to the tables around us. I never got a single refill on my drink. $2.75 for watered down diet coke. I had to go ask for a to go container. If you are the type of person who likes to tip based on service I would suggest leaving the tip for when you are done. I paid with card ahead of time and added the tip then. I would have tipped differently based on the lack of service. My wife and I both loved our fish and our fries. The tarter sauce was really good. Will not be returning and would not recommend.

I have been there twice and the food is always phenomenal. Unfortunately the tables are always dirty and we have to get up to find silverware after our food comes. Last meal each of our items were delivered separately. Ie I got my drink, a few minutes later he got his. Then he got his meal a minute or so behind mine.

I ordered the mushroom soup, but they served me the French onion soup by mistake, so I sent it back. Mistake! The mushroom soup was horrible. It looked like oatmeal. I actually had to chew it, and it didn’t taste good. When I asked to return it for something else, they refused. I was stuck with it! And I had to pay for it. I have never been to a restaurant that did that before. Terrible

The Boathouse in Winona has changed the way they do service after covid, where you order at the front and grab your own silverware and water. The food was absolutely outstanding. My father in law is picky about walleye and he was so impressed! The portobello burger was not wet, and the mushrooms were broiled with cheese and it was delicious. They have very friendly servers and a gorgeous view. The restaurant gets very loud because of the acoustics and there is limited seating simply because it’s a small place. The food used to be mediocre but now its amazing, great job! Highly recommend this spot.
