Place was recommended by a friend. Very nice place. Straightforward American fare. I’m partial to fish and chips, and it did not disappoint.

Every time we come to Cape May we always have dinner here one evening. I keep wishing I could give The Blue Pig 5 stars but I have yet to be able to.

We chose to eat outside which was a perfect start! Blue pig martini was excellent. Food was even better. Shrimp scampi was new to the menu and it is fantastic! Will definitely put it on the list for places to go back to.

Celebrating my husband’s birthday. Service was slow and we were seated near two screaming toddlers obviously not the restaurant’s fault. We took our dessert to go.

Absolutely love the atmosphere of the Blue Pig, and the food was delicious!! A little pricey, but that comes with the territory, and I believe it well worth it. The staff members were so friendly, particularly our waitress who was visiting for the summer from Romania. And I must ask forgiveness because I was not able to resist “borrowing” one of your beautiful teal napkins as a keepsake. lol.. I will pay you for it if I can. I just could not resist temptation in the moment because (A) I love your restaurant and (B) it was in my color family. 😉 It will be forever on display in my home.

Couldn’t understand why the general rating of this place is so low! We ate here three times during our two night stay and were consistently blown away. Great portions, solid food, and delicious complimentary bread (they only serve it if you ask for it, though!)

Chicken entree was over cooked and the pasta entree was bland. Way overpriced. The Martin Ray Cab is $22 a glass or $110 for the bottle, a bottle retails for $24 so it’s a 5x mark up. The historic building dates back to 1816 so that is super cool. Come here for a drink and take in the atmosphere then go someplace else to eat.

We recently visited Cape May for the first time and were excited to try the Blue Pig after hearing about it. It certainly had a light and airy aesthetic on the front porch where we sat, and their personalized napkins/placemats gave it a Tiffany’s robins egg blue feel. The food was good but not write-home-worthy. My husband enjoyed the bacon wrapped meatloaf and I enjoyed the seafood platter. However, while being Celiac, I found augmenting other entrees/dishes nearly impossible, hence my backup plan of going with fresh seafood (no sauces). In future visits to Cape May, we will stick to other spots that are more allergen friendly for the family.

The Blue Pig Tavern is a lovely, traditional styled restaurant where they pay attention to the details of the atmosphere down to pig printed napkins and pigs tastefully scattered through the room. I got the cranberry fizz mocktail, which was delicious, and the American styled breakfast. The potatoes were very well seasoned and crispy. The eggs and sausage were well cooked. The toast was “real” bread and not just store loaf. My partner had the blue pig skillet and said it was perfectly done with just the right amount of flavor and spice. It was a great start to the day!

I’m not sure it deserves a 3.8 rating, more like a 4.3. Food was good, especially the shrimp scampi, and the burger. The waiter for the most part was attentive, except when it was time to give the bill, when he disappears for 15 minutes. The atmosphere is nice if you have a table either outside, or in the front area with windows looking outside. The rest seems loud. There was a man on stilts the whole time, walking from table to table, playing guitar for everyone. Pretty fun. Overall, I recommend dining here, it’s a decent option. Sure, there are better places. But this is solid.
