Nice local eatery in Highland Park. Same management as the Skylark Diner and the Pines Manor. Excellent drink and craft beer selection. Great appetizers. We had the General Tso’s cauliflower. good selection of vegan options. The Vegan Chili was excellent. The service was outstanding. They have live music in the bar area. Outdoor seating is available in season. Thumbs up, we’ll be back. They do a Sunday brunch 11AM-3:00PM.

The Blue Horse Restaurant is where I met the best of my life and we decided to have our wedding reception at the same place we met for the first! Even thou it was reserved with other event already, the owner Jeff found a way to host us and gave us the best food, Service and hospitality! The staff took great care of the guest.

What a disappointment. We were excited to try this place. They are part of the Pines Manor and Skylark Diner in Edison, which are very good. When we got there we entered through the bar and took the first entrance to the dining room. Waitress immediately said you have to go to the other end to be seated by the hostess.. This entrance is at the second right after you walk through the entire bar. Who would have know. When seated, waitress wanted us to order drinks without time to look at the bar drink and wine menu. Order two Old Fashioned. Waitress didn’t ask what kind or alchohol. This was a tip on the experience of the waitress. Boy look at the picture. Where was the bourbon? We had to second it back. It was replaced but, which was a small improvement. We noticed that the size of the glasses were small. The cost $8 each. Next Potato leek soup. It was average not much flavor. We ordered burgers which were good but, also average.

The service is excellent as well as the food. If you go, I highly recommend the drink, The Blue Horse, as well as the General Tso Cauliflower as an appetizer. The inside of the restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and split into two levels. Perfect for a date night or even a meetup to catch up with your friends.

Awesome birthday party at The Blue Horse Restaurant! We had a bday luncheon for my mom at this new restaurant and we were not disappointed! Jeff, one of the owners, was incredibly accommodating and helpful. Our wait staff Brenda and Jeff were very attentive and professional. The giant pretzel appetizer was a hit as were the beef burgers and the veggie burgers. We will be back! My hubby and I had dinner here last night and we can’t wait to return to have the General Tso’s Cauliflower! The calamari, fish and chips and the short ribs were also delicious. Maybe we’ll try the coconut chicken and kielbasa and spetzel. So many great choices!

Just got back from family and friends event, the owners all were friendly and helpful. Staff was very professional, bartenders were courteous and attentive and very good. Never had an empty glass and we’re very knowledgeable of menu and desserts. The food was outstanding and plentiful. Will definitely be going back. Recommend very highly!

First time here and will definitely be back! Rolls that come with butter and oil & spices were a big hit with the kids and adults! Kids really enjoyed their food! Gluten free diner was very impressed and happy with her meal! The other adult meals were delicious!

My husband and I have found our new go-to restaurant! The atmosphere is fun and the food is on point!!! Make sure to try the General Tso’s cauliflower and garlic shrimp appetizers. Both were great, but the cauliflower was amazing! Three people out of our party of 6 ordered the short ribs and practically licked their plates clean Our server was super attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. Can’t wait to go back!

I have never had a truly awful experience. When we got there we ordered our drinks and food. About 25-45 minutes later we got our drinks. There were 4 of us and 3 of us got water. The service was atrocious. Our waitress said she was going to get us more water and she never came back. We asked another worker to go get her because we wanted so desperately to get our check and leave. I will give credit where it is due. The chicken was great and the French onion soup was great. (Hence the 1 Star)
