The Black Cat Menu – Los Angeles, CA

Type : American restaurant

Location : Los Angeles, CA

A Silver Lake mainstay inspired by the posh American tavern, The Black Cat is complete with lofty decorative ceilings, handsome paneled walls, and elegant brass chandeliers floating above a well-worn dark wood bar. Never straying too far from the classics, the food and drinks are familiar enough to get your attention, yet innovative enough to keep you coming back. Like any self-respecting old-school tavern, there is a burger, and then there are house-made pastas, chicken, seafood, and steak. Cocktails are balanced and well-crafted, but if you prefer something a little more bespoke, don’t hesitate to ask.

Upscale American gastropub in a historic location related to the LGBTQ civil rights movement. Based on 538 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.5 stars. Price $$

The Black Cat is another one of my locals. The service is fast and good. The food is delicious! The muscles are my favorite thing on the menu the parfait is decadent and the snacks are addictive. Lennon was our server at the bar he was fun, knowledgeable, friendly and talented at making cocktails. The interior design is stunning and cool at the same time. The atmosphere is upscale but casual. This space was one of the original gay bars in Los Angeles/Silver Lake and was at the forefront of gay activism. Open to everyone. Great for a date night or fun out with friends! A must try on the east side.

Super chill/adorable place to have a few drinks and munchies. It’s nice to be in a place that is designed nicely and has a great history! Bartenders are great, they didn’t know how to make some of the drinks we asked for but we’re so open to ask so they attempted to make them, that’s what you call customer service at its finest! (In all fairness, we are very particular customers- so even more kuddos to them!)

This is a great spot if you’re looking for outdoor seating (they have plenty), amazing drinks (some of the best) and delicious food! The service is great, they have several gluten free & vegan options (I suggest their veggie burger) and I had no idea that this location is the first documented LGBT civil rights demonstration in the nation (2/11/67)!

I adore this place. I love the decoration, the crew members are polite and friendly, and the location is fantastic. They have a decent list of wines and plenty of cocktail options. Never eaten anything from there but I saw different dishes and they look great. Small outdoor area!

Really great food and atmosphere. I came with a party of 6 that made the reservation only a hour or so before we got there on a Saturday night. Food was delicious, we were set right away & service was quick. Everyone enjoyed their food. I got the grab cakes with fries. Crab cake were tasty- a few of us ordered them & we all liked them.

Seemed promising up until we were actually serviced by Viridiana. Wasn’t very attentive at all, got half the order wrong, didn’t seem to take much accountability, and had an attitude as if she was annoyed with simple requests. Got charged for all the things that came out incorrectly. Ambiance was good, food was ok, service was the most disappointing part of it all. Could barely get a refill of water. Probably wouldn’t come back or would sit at the bar instead for cocktails only.

Snacks and drinks were good. Patio seating is nice, but it’s the only option.

The main turn-off was that the waitresses seemed annoyed that we were there at all (7:30pm on a Saturday). Requests for utensils were met with sighs of exasperation. Food was over priced and mediocre. 🙁 Had to send two separate uncooked burgers back.

A great place for a drink and a bite to eat, the food was amazing best bar food I have tasted currently. Considering the great taste the price is worth it, and the drinks are in good selection and taste. Will be coming here again.
