I had the pleasure of trying The Bishop for the first time last night while the hubby and I were in Albany for the afternoon. He asked for steak and I had heard good things, so off we went.

We discovered this great local spot on a recent trip to Albany. It was a short walk from the Hilton. Great little downtown neighborhood. Very cool urban vibe. The place was almost empty when we walked in, but we were early. By the time we finished eating, it had filled up and it was almost full. We ordered a bottle of wine. There’s a nice wine list, but are far more well-known for bourbon and whiskey. Looked like they had a nice selection of beers on tap as well. I had a ribeye steak with shrimp and my wife had a salad with shrimp. Everything was very well done. I was amazed at the portion size. We could’ve easily split my steak and shrimp. The baked potato that came with my entrée was the size of three baked potatoes, but was delicious. I would highly recommend the bishop for a nice meal before a concert, or as a weekend treat.

My wife & I were in town for a wedding and The Bishop was highly recommended by the hotel we stayed at. They have an incredulous whiskey selection and their crafted libations are just as noteworthy (spicy margarita was great). We ordered the Brussels sprouts & chicken fried steak fingers to start. Followed that up with the smashed burger & my wife had the beet salad. Matt & the staff were very hospitable & provided a great dining experience. Consider it a must stop!

Stopped by during a conference in Albany at the Hilton. Even though they were out of some drinks and food items, Julia, our server, was awesome, and provided many other suggestions. Food was delishhhhh and the cocktails were also fantastic. Will be back for the food and Julia’s service

Went with my wife and was disappointed. Curly hair in our food and waitress seemed preoccupied. The atmosphere is 10/10 but definitely not worth the $ for this kind of service. The Hollow Bar and Kitchen is across the street and always provides us with a welcoming ambiance + great grub.

We stopped in for dinner while in town. The room had a relaxed atmosphere feel , we were seated quickly. The waitress was knowledgeable and answered our menu questions. The onion soup was very good followed that with NY strip, crab and wild rice. Nice portions and cooked perfectly. Hope to visit again.

My fiance and I went here for drinks and food last night. I ordered the crab cake appetizer and he got the pork appetizer special. The flavor of my crab cakes was amazing, and the way they were made was very different (but in a good way). They were sandwiched between these crunchy wafery biscuit things. And the plating was gorgeous. Only thing I think is that they could have been a little bigger for $13. My fiance said his appetizer was delicious and it was a good size too (it was $9). Cocktails were amazing and some of the best in the Albany area I think and were accurately priced ($11-$13). Their dessert was out of this world. Rice pudding was made with aroborio rice which was very good and their bread pudding was in a skillet and the best I’ve had in a while. Waitstaff is extremely friendly and good, and the chef came out to our table which is a huge plus in my book.We will definitely be back!

Stopped here for dinner in June. Service was slow and our waitress was quite rude. Ordered the lobster roll and found a dark curly hair on my plate. Drinks we ordered were mostly ice. Will not be returning.

Very nice! Let’s start with the food! Fresh quality and creative menu. I came back 2 days in a row and enjoyed both of the meals I had . I had a massive juicy ribeye and the chef added some prawns as a compensation that there were no lobster tails. I also had the burned brussels sprouts Wi h were lovely. The next day I had the special, the grilled salmon with mustard sauce … it was a wonderful bouquet of flavours. Both days I ate at the bar and had a wonderful service and enjoyed some lovely wines by the glass. Food quality is value for money. It’s not cheap but you get value in return, aside from great service and a lovely environment. Hope I can return here some day. Great job !

I had heard that the Steak was good so I decided I would go after work one day when it wasn’t busy to have dinner. I was the only person sat down at a table, other than that there were a few people at the bar having drinks.
