MUST EAT IN GRUENE! Sweetest little mom and pop breakfast spot. We came for brunch and we were greeted by the owner’s daughter who said hello and walked us to our tables. We immediately got ice cold water and our waitress Megan was as kind as they come! She was so nice to us and made great recommendations. Try the Sangria you won’t be disappointed! My chicken fried eggs Benny was cooked to perfection and my husband loved his honey butter chicken biscuits. We can’t wait to come back.

Great food, great service. Waitress was efficient and attentive. They were crowded but no fall off in service. Food came in timely manner, coffee cup stayed filled. Owner was very friendly and accommodating. He also checked on us, made conversation, and welcomed us back. Highly recommend, want to return to try dinner entrees next time.

It was a little piece of heaven and the chicken Benedict’s was the best! You definitely want to try the bird sauce. I could literally drink it. Brunch was a success here. I will definitely be going back. As for Megan, she was the server ever!

Great outdoor atmosphere with plenty tree shade. Too hot to try the fried chicken, but the salad sampler included chicken salad, pasta salad and garden salad. The pasta salad was nothing special, but the plate itself was big enough to share. We enjoyed our time here and enjoyed the outdoor environment. We would love to come back and try the fried chicken!

The atmosphere is so calming, you see the river, trees everywhere, birds chirping, and the food, so so good, I had the chicken and waffles, they were great, any chicken is outstanding. Deviled eggs were very creamy, Paola no cream corn was my favorite.

Picked up a to-go order of 2 Nashville hot chicken sandwiches and a kids chicken nuggets. The Nashville hot sandwiches were very very good, the crinkle fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy, and the dipping sauce was delicious. I was impressed with how good my son’s chicken nuggets looked. My husband tried them and said they were great.

Super cute spot and the food is amazing. We had the chicken salad sandwich and chicken burger. Lemonade is fantastic! Sitting outside was probably not the best plan as it was drizzling and there were a lot of flies. Service was great despite it being Sunday and the place being busy Brooke was amazing and our glasses were never empty. Parking can be VERY difficult on Sunday because there is a market in the area you will have to find street parking or walk from the river post.

If you value your time don’t go here. My wife and I arrived at 11:45am, ordered drinks (coffee, OJ not freshly squeezed and literally room temperature, lemonade). Had to request straws, had to request utensils to stir the sugar and creamer. Had to request sugar because I was given a sugar tray that had 1 sugar packet already ripped open and the other one was ripped and sugar was falling out. I did not want sweet and low. So I had to request for regular sugar.

Had a wonderful late lunch at Birdhouse. It was a tad busy, but the staff was super attentive and made sure we got sat quickly. The wine was ice cold and the food was delicious. Our server Landon was great at suggesting dishes. 10/10 recommend.

Random Thursday night out with the wife, decided to check out the rebranding and were not disappointed. We started with the frickles or fried pickles. They had a great saltiness and crisp batter…delicious, especially with the Bird Sauce! I ordered the the chicken fried chicken with gravy and my wife ordered the lemon pepper grilled chicken. Elevated comfort food, done perfectly. We got cornbread and 2 sides with each dinner, so we ordered mashed potatoes, seasoned veggies, the (awesome!) cream corn, and pasta salad. We had to try to the Mac and cheese and we’re glad we did. Great night and great food and ambience down in Gruene. Love the new look, going to come back and try those sandwiches.
