Jay Peak employee suggested this place for dinner. Immediately after opening the front door, the bathrooms are on the left and it was a very bad smell. Not looking good. Kids didn’t like it and we were turned off, especially since the restaurant was almost empty at 7. It soon filled up and the food started to show up. The fresh warm bread was delicious. We weren’t super hungry so I ordered a burger instead of a special on the chalkboard. Burger was very juicy (I asked for medium). Loved the French fries. Wife had mussels and a mushroom soup (very salty) and kids had the chicken tenders. The kids portion was huge!

Worth the wait! We did not have a reservation. Found it online. Was jam packed on a Monday night. Locals, as well as tourists. Food was delicious! I had the chicken Alfredo special & my daughter ordered a burger. We were served Complimentary bread & oil, due to the back up in the kitchen. We were informed that everything is made to order, from scratch. Do yourself a favor & order the blackberry margarita completed our meal with frozen PB pie with an Oreo crust, which was to die for.

A great pub style restaurant with a wide variety of selections. I think reservations are a must! Service was friendly and fast. Drinks were excellent. Food was well prepared. Everyone had something different and we had no complaints!

Have drinks but skip the food. The food is…well…not good The pasta was really bland and who puts root vegetables in pasta primavera!? The four”crusted” scallops for $36 were boiled more than broiled and the mixed vegetables were….more root vegetables. It’s summer there are fresh veggies everywhere why are they serving old starchy root vegetables when there are fresh greens available…. and again who puts root vegetables in pasta primavera!?

First off, the food was excellent and our server was initially very friendly. The atmosphere was enjoyable. However, the restaurant has an absolutely ridiculous policy of giving you 90 minutes to eat. We were a group of 10 and our food took 45 minutes to come out and we like to enjoy our meals with our family and friends. Our server informed us with 15 minutes left that she needed the table and we needed to hurry up. Some of our group asked for dessert and coffee. The request was met with some resistance and we were reminded of the 90 minute timer, again. Our check came to the table before everyone was finished eating and we were asked to leave promptly. Literally, she came over and said, “ok guys, time to get up now”. I’m sorry, what!?

My wife and I had a wonderful meal this past Thursday evening at the Belfry. I had scallops that were on the “special board” that night. I am thinking they were U12/U15ish and I believe 5 or 6 were in the dish and they were scrumptious. My sides were beets, which were perfectly cooked , asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes that were very tasty. My wife had the shrimp scampi served over linguine and she loved it. This was a nice meal and to experience that quality in a fairly remote area of Vermont was a win, win for us. We felt a special vibe in the establishment and we will be back again after another day skiing at Jay Peak. FYI, we made reservations at 6pm and that is significantly earlier than our typical dining time of ~ 7:30. But there are limited restaurants in the area and it can get very busy during ski season. So, we recommend reservations for sure and remember it’s ski country. There were many families enjoying the moment as well and it became busy quickly. Our meals were hot and the service was top notch and we think would would do the same time again too.

We had a great time here. They were able to squeeze us in on a very busy Saturday after we were turned away by other restaurants that were full. The food and atmosphere were great. We had maple wings and stuffed haddock and enjoyed them very much. We enjoyed the draft beer and cocktails. Would recommend!

Very expensive food. Definitely wasn’t worth its price. The only thing that was good was the waitress was pleasant. She made sure we had a wonderful time when it came to customer service. She made up for the food being “not up to expectations.”

The Belfry served up a memorable night for my son’s class that had traveled from the eastern tip of Long Island to ski at Jay Peak for their Senior Trip.

We found this little gem on a recent ski trip to Jay Peak while staying in Montgomery. After a few good meals at the resort we were ready for something excellent. We were not disappointed with the first nights serving of seafood stuffed haddock and Center cut pork chop. Our six year old had the noodles, meatballs with cheese on the side. It was so good we had to go back the next evening to an equally delicious meal including lobster stuffed ravioli and chicken. Topped off with fiddlehead IPA and bees knees cocktails. While we were definitely part of the early crowd we were walk ins and suggest later dinning to make reservations. The staff were very friendly especially to our daughter which made her day. The atmosphere is cozy. This pub has been flagged for return visits!
