What a surprising little gem! We decided to go for breakfast at the Beauclaire, located in a historic inn, and were amazed at how good the food was. We were expecting the menu to be average but the selection was great and the food was excellently prepared. There’s a really good selection and while the historic building might not be everyone’s taste, we absolutely loved it and will repeat.

Wonderful experience…sat on the veranda (it was cool even though the day was blistering hot) and had a special very old recipe Pot Pie $19. It was very nice. Pastry crust was so flaky. Served with salad…the caesar was good and just the right size.

Unfortunately, my visit to the Beauclaire was not a great experience. After making a reservation, I assumed there would be some sort of host to show us to our table. Instead, we needed to hunt down a server who said to “sit anywhere.” After passing a table where menu’s were piled haphazardly, we selected a table with a nice view of the garden. This was the best part of our visit, so I included a photo of the view. My wife needed to clear some crumbs from her seat before sitting down, but we settled in for a nice meal and evening.

The food at the Lakeside Inn was such a pleasant find. We were in town for a long weekend and actually stayed at a different location, but we had two different meals at the Beauclaire (Lakeside Inn restaurant). My lunch was amazing, which included a Bloody Mary and the blackened chicken cob salad. It was wonderful. The front porch is a beautiful setting to sit and enjoy a drink and or lunch / dinner. The staff are so hospitable. Special thanks to our servers Chris and Mackenzie and their general manager Michelle. They were all so attentive and accommodating, which honestly is why we went back a second time for dinner. We visit Mt Dora frequently, and we will definitely be back at the Beauclair Lakeside Inn for more great memories.
