I sat at the bar on a crowded Thursday summer evening. The bartender made a perfect Negroni and the Pork Chop was out of this world. Perfect meal.

First time here and impressed. Service was excellent and no time was wasted to ask for our drink and appetizer order. Drinks were quick and appetizers were right behind them. I ordered the Fried Oysters Rockefeller and was very curious as to how this would be served. Fried oysters sat on a bed of creamed spinach with shaved Parmesan on top. Absolutely delicious. One person in our party is a vegetarian and they had several good options to choose from. One of which I was tempted to order as a carnivore. The duck confit was flavorful, moist and cooked perfect. It was served with a pumpkin risotto which was good. Let me say I’m not a fan of risotto, but I understand the labor involved to make it right and this was cooked perfectly. I will definitely go back and look at one of the grilled meat options. New favorite restaurant in Boone!

This was some of the most delicious food I’ve had. The pizzas were so good and the cocktails to die for. Their cornbread with clarified butter was finger licking good!

The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. Smiles all around. The server was very polite, though she did disappear after the middle point check in until we were ready to go.

We chose The Beacon for our daughter’s birthday dinner and we were so happy we did! The entrees and appetizer were delicious and locally sourced. The presentation was gorgeous. Our server was very professional and her suggestions were very helpful! If you have not tried this little hidden gem in the middle of town on HWY 105, please do!

Our meal could not have been any better if the good lord himself made it. Cocktails were absolutely amazing. Best cocktails in town, probably the state! We had a table of 8 and everyone had nothing but good things to say!! We will be back, probably tomorrow! If you do not eat here on your high-country trip, just go home. You will be disappointed. Eat here. Beef tenderloin, fried oysters, pork loin, zucchini fritters, and best of all MOUNTAIN MIDNIGHT mezcal cocktail.

The atmosphere is lovely and that is the best I can say about our experience. I wanted to love it, but it just wasn’t that good. The cornbread appetizer was the highlight of our meal. The duck was a disappointment. Two of us ordered the duck. We both ordered it medium rare. My friend’s duck was lovely. Mine was terrible. It was cold, slimy and basically raw inside. I sent the duck back for an extra few minutes on the grill, but it wasn’t much improved. I didn’t eat it.

Nice upscale restaurant for a town that always manages to find gems like this. Nestled near a mini-golf course and within a multi-sector office complex, Butcher Bar (as the locals call it) is discrete and unassuming on the outside, but modern and naturalistic at the same time. The menu offers a limited selection of each course yet seemingly always offers something that “hits the spot”. The wine selection offers diverse choices from both Old World and New World varietals, and has a decent cocktail menu. The staff are also very welcoming and friendly. Excellent choice if you are in Boone.

Our second visit here and it was as amazing as the first. Fabulous cocktails & dinner menu but the staff & ambiance makes it so worth it. Can’t wait to come back.
