Plenty of people have told us we had to eat at The Apple House so today we took a Sunday drive out to Linden, VA for lunch. They don’t have a huge menu but they do have several great options. The first one, The Wildcat, caught my eye because it’s pastrami. That’s one of my favorites and it didn’t disappoint. It was a toss up between that and The Pimento Cheese Burger. The Bacon Ranch Potato Salad was fantastic. I only wish there was more of it. That is definitely my new favorite side. My wife had The Virginian which is a grilled Virginia ham and cheese. That along with the coleslaw was a great combination. I know it was good because she finished her lunch before I finished half my sandwich. We’ll have to head back out there so I can try The Pimento Cheese Burger along with the Pork BBQ. I saw several folks eating that and it looked delicious. There’s also the kid-friendly Bushel Pub on the other side of the gift shop. They have their own menu along with beer, wine and hard cider. That’s another place we’ll have to try.

So cozy and very warm and friendly. Service is slow but it is worth the taste and the atmosphere. Great selection of the beers on draft and staff are super friendly and kind. They do go out of their way to make sure to make you feel home. Store have a lot of the cute and fun items, including a lot of spices to buy. It is a must see place. Enjoy…

5 stars for the donuts, -5stars for the establishment. Averages out to 1 star. Donuts are good. Not a fan of the racist imagery on the items being sold. Staff is very stand offish to non-white patrons. Being a person of color there was uncomfortable to say the least. If this is the community you all serve it’s shameful. Obviously not returning again.

Great Pulled Pork Sandwich. Coleslaw had a nice flavor and texture. It was not too sweet. The house bbq sauce was nice and tangy. Fries were hot & plentiful. Of course, I got their famous donuts as well. I have been coming here for over 35 years. Appleicious. More sauces than you can shake a stick at!

We stopped for the donuts!! We bought the donuts. We are the donuts! This place is a must stop off of Route 66 a handful of miles before route 81 (if you’re headed towards 81). It’s worth the stop for the donuts alone but they have a pub, and a restaurant and a great country store!

This place is a gem, great donuts, great atmosphere. I truly love being here cause I feel like I’m experiencing or being part of some thing that’s slowly dying here in the US mom and pop establishments with the country feel. We were in VA on vacation and drove about an hour to have breakfast here. It was totally worth it! The apple butter donuts practically melt in your mouth. Also, you can see them being made right behind the counter, so you know they are fresh! The crew was very kind and friendly. There is a cute shop and even a bar attached. Definitely recommend!

Very yummy donuts and very cute gift shop. Come here for the “umm, smells like Cinnamon Toast Crunch” donuts after getting smash burger and fries at Spelunkers a little ways down the road. Yr welcome. Easy pop in and out off exit 19.
