We recently discovered this cool little place on a recent visit to Granbury. It has only been open since August of 2021 and the owner/chef Mark is a great guy, very friendly and chatty. We enjoyed getting to know him and truly hope this place is successful. The 817 has a small menu that changes daily based on what is fresh when he goes to market that morning. This day we had a perfectly cooked T-Bone steak with a mound of fries and fried calamari for an appetizer. Both very good, would definitely order again. The calamari was pretty close to perfect with the amount of breading, freshness and it was not rubbery at all. Anyone who has eaten calamari more than once has undoubtedly experienced that rubbery texture at one time or another. They serve wine and beer and live bands on the weekend. We visited on a stormy Monday evening, the close on Tuesday so not a lot of people out in the storm which gave us the opportunity to visit with Mark and learn about what motivated him to open the 817. All in all would definitely recommend this place and will go again in the near future.

Hands down the best food I’ve eaten in years. My husband and I shared the fried green tomatoes w/ arugula, pimento cheese and honey. Oh. My. So good. We split the Super Grouper which came with asparagus and risotto. It was plenty for the both of us. Each and every flavor shined! Every bite was to die for. Next came the campfire cheesecake. Yall they toast the marshmallows! Everything was so fresh and prepared to order. We will be back!

Delicious food! When going here originally we expected burgers and BBQ, they mix it up everyday you could get anything from BBQ sandwiches to a swordfish steak. The place was clean and the staff was friendly, I recommend trying this place.

Fist time visiting The 817, and it was a great experience. The food tasted amazing, was plated beautifully, and it was unique. Apparently they have a diff menu daily. Our server, Holly was very sweet and on point. Heck, the whole place greeted us as we first walked in. They had a few diff music artists singing and playing guitar. It was a little loud, but still awesome.

This place is chill. The food is absolutely amazing. We’ve ate here 5 times so far and it is always BaddAss! If you’re into quality over quantity then this is the place. I leave full but not over full and know I ate healthy. I highly recommend The 817. Mark is the head chef & owner and he will make you feel at home! Love this place. Well here we again. And again and again and again and again !
