Same things everyday for the most part. It gets very repetitive and after a while you do start to dislike the food. The staff however is amazing. They are always polite and I’ve never had a bad interaction with them. I know they do the best with the materials that they are given to cook, considering for the most part it is low quality.

The 5 Dining Hall has food that isn’t the best but it is consistent in having hidden gems. There is a hidden section in the 5 that has food that is better than most college dining halls. One day I had some pieces of steak that was something I have never experienced for food at an institution. I seriously hope that the 5 steps up their game in all departments and not just one.

Good food, don’t expect to get a quick response if you’re trying to book a group tour re: paperwork…

There’s a variety of foods to choose from. For students and parents visiting their kids I’d say it’s okay. I don’t know how much it costs because I eat free but all around it’s decent.

If I wanted burgers and pizza and pasta everyday I would go to the hundreds of fast food chains around campus. Absolutely redundant, the food they serve looks nothing like the menu, nothing that is particularly healthy, and nothing is even appetizing once you try it. I came here once to get pasta and they offered nacho cheese as a sauce or marinara. If I ever want normal cooked veggies (all the veggies are always cold) I have to go to the vegetarian section, where there is only 4 options (one usually a type of rice.) Do yourself a favor and go to the 459, much better food and friendlier staff.

This used to be Pentagon Cafeteria back in the 1980s. I’d eat here occasionally if I was in this part of campus at dinnertime. Food was always good. So yes, my review is based on 30-year-old memories. How much could it have changed? 😉

Food is great 90 percent of the time. Staff are really kind. Only thing is, I’ve been served rotten scrambled eggs before, and the sausage links sometimes aren’t was and don’t seem cooked.

Food is way better than you’re probably going in there expecting. I enjoyed everything except breakfast. Not many options that aren’t bland like oatmeal and eggs and bacon. But keep in mind. I’m not really a breakfast person anyway.

The quality decreases noticeably throughout the semester and school year. You pay $10 per swipe, get poor service, and less and less selection. They only have a healthy option about half of the time. Worst of all, the university basically forces you to eat here, or lose tons of money. Freshmen, if you can get out of buying a meal plan, you should. I’ll never forgive LSU for this.

For parents who think LSU’s dining is great, they are not. You are better off eating at that crappy King Buffet by Mall of Louisiana than this piece of garbage. They serve the same food over and over again and you are paying $6 per meal for it. It’s $2,000 per semester. Get your child an apartment that has a kitchen so they can at least microwave frozen dinners and takeouts that would cost much cheaper.
