Tacos are very skimpy, they barely put a sprinkle of cheese (as you can see I opened up the taco) and for just 2 tacos I was charged $6.17 and for what you get, that is a bit pricey, I recommend the Texas Taco Express on Hempstead. That one gives you way more bang for your buck, the other location fills up their tacos

The cashier had a great attitude and the barbacoa breakfast tacos I had were wonderful. The restaurant itself does not pretend to be more than it is: an authentic, family owned hole in the wall serving phenomenal Mexican food. I went back the next day for a quesadilla and wanted to go back a third time!

My first trip here, I ordered a to-go plate $6 with 2 meats, rice and beans w/ 3 tortillas. I didn’t finish it and had enough leftover for dinner. Since then I have been picking up 1 or 2 $2 tacos for lunch. Very good for the price, large quantity of meats in the taco. Friendly quick service. One of my regular go-to places to lunch. All prices are rounded to the nearest dollar including tax.

recently moved to this side of town. i always see this place when i drive down Little York so this morning, i decided to try it. This is for sure a hole in the wall taco spot, which i love. The parking situation isnt that great, you just gotta find a spot somewhere in the dirt & gravel. When you walk inside, they have a decent selection of what kind of tacos you may want. theres no menu so just say what kind of tacos you want. They do accept credit cards, which i was happy about. I got 3 tacos which averaged around 2$ each. They have drinks in the fridge to the right of the register along with green hot sauce. i love hot sauce & spicey food in general but the sauce was not spicey at all, kind of dissapointed in that. I would recommend this place if you want something quick.

UPDATED (9/2/18): As others have noted, Texas Taco has closed, but they are relocating to 7702 Burger Lane in the Chevron Station near Windfern @ Phillipine. Opening date should be during the week after Labor Day. Their old location on W. Little York has closed and their building has been demo’d to make way for a new (educated guess) gas station.

I have eaten everything from hotdogs and gyros in Manhattan to authentic Mexican food in Mazilan. Good Mexican food is hard to find even in Texas…Its places like this one that captures great flavor of home cooked Mexican food. The place doesn’t look like it would be place I would stop to eat, but I read the Google reviews and decided…lol I’ve eaten in worst places. So I gave it a try..I’m glad I did too!
