Not even close to being as good as Texas Ribs And BBQ in Clinton Maryland. I don’t even know what kind of ribs. I was eating, bad joints, and muscles in them that I didn’t even recognize not to mention if the outside is tough chewy, and pretty much inedible. The coleslaw was dry. Had no sauce or juice or whatever they put on it to make coleslaw good and french fries were cold. It was a real disappointment especially since I’ve been eating salads all week and I was looking forward to a little splurge at all, I’ll never go to this place again. Even if I have to drive 15 miles up the road to Texas Ribs And Clinton that’s what I’ll do.

Solid food selection at a fair price point. Nothing fancy and you won’t leave hungry. There’s also a good ice cream shop connected to the barbecue place for dessert. Would definitely go again

If I could give a 0, I would. From the time we walked in till we walked out after our meal, the service was horrible. The appetizer came out with the meal, meal was cold and don’t ask your server for a straw…. you would’ve thought I asked for a kidney when I asked for a straw. The huff and the eye roll should’ve been enough to make my husband and I get up and leave. We won’t be going back and trust me… let someone ask for a restaurant recommendation. This place won’t be the one I recommend. Seems the owner could learn a thing or two about customer service as well.

When this place is busy, it can be hard to get into, but the food is worth it. Staff are always very nice and provide great service. Food has always been great. The roast beef special (if they have it) is a must have. The pit beef sandwich is my second go to. The house made sauces (especially the sweet) is delicious and available for purchase. Best of all, nothing beats the ice cream after a great meal.

Let me tell you this!!!! This is THE best TEXAS BBQ I have had outside of Texas that is not my exhusbands and his brother’s. I have been wanting to stop and try as I drive down 301 at least 2x per month and I am so glad I did!! I don’t care for NC, VA or Memphis BBQ at all. How could I when I was married to a Texan.

I loved the one in Clinton when I last lived up here but this location in La Plata is terrible. If you’re from Texas and need to satisfy your bbq craving then this place will let you down. I’ve eaten there several times and only once the food was good. I’m guessing that was the day they ACTUALLY smoked the meat. The rest of the time it’s reheated meat from the refrigerator and you can really tell. I usually get the ribs but the last time I ordered the pulled pork. The waitress said it was smoked that day but it wasn’t. They even hit it with lime juice to help hide the fact it was taken out of the fridge and reheated in the microwave. Their sweet rib sauce is still amazing though. Oh and why don’t they have Blue Bell ice cream? It doesn’t get anymore Texas than that! Guess I’ll have to keep going to Virginia for that.

Walked in with 2 waitresses sitting in clear view in the back. No one greated us or sat us. Just stared. They were very cold and unfriendly didn’t explain specials or offer desserts, tho I heard her offer EVERY OTHER family of they’d like to order ice-cream after their meal. We won’t be back.

Have driven by this little place so many times and finally stopped there this past weekend, and I am so glad I did! The food was excellent, great portion sizes, selections, and oh so yummy (best fried pickles I’ve ever had). I definitely will be going back to try the other options!
