Ordered the hibachi beef vegetables and rice plate. Pay $12 plus a tip. I was the only person standing there with a order and then a pretty short time, they said, here’s my order, I said, thank you. I got all the way across town opened my meal to eat my late dinner, and discover that it’s shrimp, vegetables and rice, and I am allergic to seafood!

Ordered a teriyaki shrimp entree last night, right before they were closing. Half way into eating the meal I noticed the cabbage, broccoli, giant carrot slices were severely brownish/black. Initially, I thought the teriyaki sauce turned it this color because it didn’t taste burnt. I realized this wasn’t the case. The vegetables were old and wilted. I can’t believe they would serve me this. I just got over the stomach flu a month ago and now this. Having bad food poisoning symptoms. That was the last thing I ate in the last 24hrs.

I eat at Teppan Japan enough that the staff knows me and my usual order. They’re wonderful and consistent in quality. A lot of people are complaining that they’re unfriendly and ignore customers but I have never found that to be the case and I have frequented the establishment for three years. The fans on the grill can get really loud as someone who has had her fair share behind a food service counter. But they’re sushi is always good, rice is always excellent, and everything else I’ve tried there is amazing.

They were alright. not too bad but nothing special at all. Teppan Japan is just one of those little mall restaurants you only eat because you don’t have any other options…. I think the other reviews are correct when they say the staff ignores customers. I was trying to tell the staff there was too much grease in my rice and the owner just ignored me. He didn’t even try to address me. Because of him ignoring me and repeatedly saying “I’m too busy” I give 1 star. The food was probably 3 stars just too much grease. I could feel my pores exploding lol

Went to Teppan Japan with my daughter while at Valley View shopping for her birthday gifts. She wanted to try it. We both were very disappointed. The Teriyaki chicken was dry… rice was hard. I wouldn’t recommend Teppan Japan. I complained to the manager… they didn’t ignore me but the manager was rude. He addressed me as “dude” (how about calling me “sir”.. thank you) and he gave me the feeling he didn’t want us to come back. This little place has a strange atmosphere. Won’t return when we go back to Valley View.

The food is great and service was good. I got a lot of food for one order I shared it with my kids. The lady in front is always nice when I walk by and decided to try. Food has great teriyaki flavor and there was plenty of meat. My food was not greasy like the other reviews so they may have improved? Try the place and you may like it as I have.

Mediocre japanese/ asian cuisine. I was in the mall recently and tried Teppan. The stores appearance is kind of attractive but I suggest going elsewhere. I left a little sick. Not throwing up sick just a belly ache. The first 2 or 3 bites were good but the more you eat the more of a belly ache you get. I complained to the owner and the owners wife. The owners wife was fiddling with these big yellow bottles that sit below the cookers. I said “ Excuse me.” Almost 6 times. I know she heard me but she ignored. The owner finally came over and told me they were too busy right now. They didn’t even have any customers besides my wife and I. My wife and I just walked away. At the nearby Sbarros, an employee there told me the owner of Teppan speaks negatively about customers and often ignores complaints. The Sbarro employee also added that they often have people come to their store and complain about Teppan Japans food.

I got really sick the last time I ate at Teppan Japan. The food is pretty good but I think they’re using some old shrimp or something. Some of my shrimp tasted weird… don’t bother complaining to the owner or his wife. They’re rude people. They will probably ignore you. I’ve also heard the owner, “yao”, is a really strange guy from atleast 3 people.

The Thai tea at Teppan Japan is great. The food isn’t greasy.. it’s pretty good. The thing that got me was how the employees act. The owner is a chinese guy, his name is “Yao Tang”. He works here with his wife. They are rude a lot of times.. on my last visit.. his wife was so rude to me. I was trying to tell her something about my food, and she just ignored me. I had to say “hello” at least 10 times for her to even pay attention to me. Then she looked at me like she was annoyed and let out a big sigh, like i was worrying her or annoying her. I agree with other reviews. They ignore their customers. They act like they hate to talk to anyone, even when they’re taking your order.
