I’m new to massachusetts and have not found one soul food place. Was happy to find a BBQ place that was named after memphis! Guaranteed good, I thought! This was a waste of $70!! The food was undercooked, not tender at all, no seasoning, greens still hard, chicken was rubbery! Meatloaf tasted like play dough, the cucumber salad was just vinegar!! This fed four of us and we thrashed the rest.

This barbecue place was a typical barbecue joint. They had sauces, honey, butter and utensils for you to grab. The food wasn’t that great the killer cornbread that is supposed to be great tasted like a weird type of cake. The pulled pork wasn’t that great. Green beans and rice were not good. The sandwiches were not that great either. The barbecue chicken had a thick layer of rubbery skin on it, once you pull off the skin the chicken was moist and tasty but that was about it. The corn on the cob was okay. The Mac n cheese was okay. Would not go back. Waste of money. Nothing was really that good.

Everything that we ate was pretty good. The beans were slightly watery but still tasted good. My wife had the pecan pie, and she liked it. The seats were a little worn out, but it added to the atmosphere of being a rustic place.

It hurts me to have to review this place so low after years of giving them my business but they have SIGNIFICANTLY gone down hill this past year. I’ve been here more times then i can count and it always use to be the best experience each time and i do mean that but the last 3-4 times i got food here there has been something within reason for it to be a bad experience. The meat quality has been so low my last visits. today my brisket was terrible (what i usually get, so i know what the standard should be), it was the most dried out, overcooked, hard slices you could have imagined. after a few slices of pretty much covering these in bbq sauce i decided i was done. Also with today’s order they messed up half the sides i ordered so i ended up with an only a single part of the meal that was basically edible to me. Previous to that is almost the same story, one time they gave me brisket end pieces (like the pieces marbled with all fat and you have like 30% meat and it’s not even good actual meat) and my girlfriend who LOVES pulled pork couldn’t even eat theirs because she thought it was not good at all when i showed her this place. and other things i could go on about but i do not want to bash anymore.

I’ve been going for a few weeks now, but I never once had a bad experience. Whether I order to take out or dine in, it’s always fast and tasty.

By far one of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. Generous portions so make sure you come hungry, delicious food and great staff. I get the pulled pork or the ribs. Super tender and lots of options for sides. They even have 3 different barbecue sauces. Tangy, sweet and hot, so pick your poison. Definitely stop by because you’re going to love it!

Proper BBQ. Walking in the door, you’re met with the warm air and aroma of pure deliciousness. I grabbed the “Oink, Cackle & Moo”. Worth every penny and not skimpy servings. At least 3 meals for me with two extra sides. Everything had the perfect textures. Collards could have a deeper flavor but I wasn’t disappointed.

I would do 3 1/2 stars if I could. Stopped here since it was about my halfway point to my Maine destination from CT ferry. I read great reviews and honestly who doesn’t love BBQ. First approach was very hesitant. Small dive looking restaurant. Sign on the street almost made it seem as if it was out of business. We continued anyways. We got there around noon. Wide selection of meats. As we waited online I was debating the ribs but as the gentleman in front of me recommended the smoked meatloaf, I changed my mind. OH LORD. So glad he mentioned it. It was so good. the flavor, moist with a slight sauced top. Very generous portion. Husband got the ribs. I saw they had chili too which had no beans which I prefer. The ribs were ok. Too saucy not much smoke flavor. I prefer them sauced then sliced but these were sauced after. It actually seemed as if the membrain along the back ribs was not pulled. Baked Mac and cheese needs work! Seemed like Kraft Mac and Cheese. The blue box type. So disappointing. The mashed potatoes were ok. The Texas style chili was disappointing too. Maybe it’s my lack of knowledge and what to expect. The chunks of meat were tender but it was a greasy soup type broth/sauce. It had some to be desired. It repeated on me so bad.

Finally, a decent BBQ place! Fun clean decor, excellent bluesy music, comfy booths, great staff, fair prices. Huge ribs! Get the pecan pie, it’s better than homemade.

We always have a nice quick meal at this location, with actual good veg options including a grilled veggie burrito, fresh watermelon, baked sweet potatoes, and plain corn on the cob. We also love their Fountainhead Zero Cola, better than the brand name zeros and amazing from the fountain! Everyone here is nice and one of the few quick eateries that actually keeps their tables clean these days which is much appreciated! Hubby loves the pulled pork burritos and sandwiches, as well as some of the other BBQ favorites!
