With a minimum purchase of $50 per person, I’d expect food and service to be better than average. However, as is typical in the Miami area, both was lacking to say the least. In addition to the awful service, we were completely ignored by the gentleman taking wagers. Definitely not a good value or experience. You’re better off just purchasing seats in the later afternoon when there’s shade near the track and avoiding this restaurant. This was our second visit, but due to the awful service, we won’t be returning.

I have been going to Ten Oalms for Father’s Day Sunday brunch for 5 years and always have been pleased. This year it was incredibly disappointing as they cut back on the menu probably to save costs. No Smoke salmon, No Cheese Blintzes, & poor excuse for french toast. The meat was of poor quality & could not eat it. I gave it three stars because the atmosphere was still exciting and the servers were great.

Wow sitting on the second level. All glass . Wow great view. They take your bets at the table. Steve the man that takes your bets, very helpful. Explained when showing place .They pay you off at table too . I order the Ten Palm Salad. . Only ate half , huge. Then the lobster roll. A little lite on lobster. Roll kinda maybe stale. But good.

I must say the food is good. I can’t say the same for the staff at the counter to check in for your reservations. My husband and I plus 4 friends book every year for Kentucky Derby and Breeders cup races. This is the second year we arrive and I would like to say gentleman but he is no gentleman by far. Taller heavy set Caucasian male with grey hair always gives us a problem with our seating reservations. Last year we were told we didn’t book for an inside table with a television even though we had the booking in our phone. He insisted we would have to accept an outside table or nothing. I was Cleary taken aback by his demeanor and refusal to honor our reservations. Fast forward to this year May 6th Kentucky Derby race we arrive early as always 11:00am proceed to the restaurant. Guess who is at the desk and once again he states that he can’t seat us at the inside table with a television as our reservations says. Now the point of making reservations and at least 2 months in advanced is to be accommodated with my seating choice. When questioned why we couldn’t be seated according to our reservations he states “Inside tables with T.V’s are only for an owner or trainer”. The statement alone was an insult to my intelligence because that isn’t true. The attitude shown to us was just short of saying we meaning people of color should be seated in the outdoor section!!!! My money is green and spends like everyone else’s and we do spend a considerable amount to enjoy the races. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this kind of treatment?

My experience on a very busy Preakness Day- May 20th was fabulous! After reading some negative reviews I asked Charles one of the Managers if I could look at the Buffet before being seated. He was so gracious and said yes!

Enjoyed the buffet throughout the entire day of racing. Great selection and I liked everything I tried. It included a variety of salads and extensive entrees and a great selection of desserts. Considering you.can eat from just before noon until 530 or so the $50.weekend price is worth it. The entrees today included carved turkey, ham, rotissiere chicken, prime rib, salmon, surf and turf, shrimp, chicken pasta, meatball marinara, cold cuts, soup, and a variety of breads and cheeses. You get to sit in the air conditioned area but have easy access to the paddock and the track apron. If you dont want to leave your seat to bet they have people walking around taking bets. Great overall experience.

Loved it! I did the brunch for my birthday and the races. It was a lovely experience and would do it again. There is something exciting about watching these amazing horses race with approximately 30 minutes in between races to relax and catch up with whoever you are with.
