I have ordered lunch from Chef Te twice now. The fish is high quality, as are the variety of vegetables he serves with it. In addition, the attention to detail Chef Te puts into his meals is unbelievable. Hard to believe what an amazing meal you get for the price. Highly recommend and this is now a regular lunch spot for me in DTLA.

What an amazing lunch! I got a salmon “signature box,” and I cannot saying enough good things about it! Besides the incredible salmon, there were probably twenty different treasures, each with its own little texture and flavor. What a unique little magic garden experience!

Absolutely incredible gem. The owner/founder chef a tremendously sweet guy, so glad I met him. Quality at a premium: menu varies as all fish and vegetables bought fresh daily. Beautiful presentation. Home-pickled vegetables. Fish dry-rubbed on edges. Cannot say enough good things! A true highlight of my day, Only wish they were open weekends, so I could’ve gone again before my conference downtown ended.

It appears that I have stumbled upon LA’s greatest hidden gem. Chef Te delivers on the ultimate promise of fine dining at a shockingly affordable price point. Fresh, seasonal fish and accompaniments compose Chef’s signature bento boxes, having immense variety and unmatched quality. This is some of the greatest fish I have ever consumed and it is available nearly at-cost thanks to Chef’s dedication and low overhead. Having recently expanded hours to dinner service, the market has not yet caught up. I attended twice and was able to be served with no wait and had some delightful conversation with the Chef about his experience. If you are reading this and the review is at all recent, go immediately. You will not regret it.

Great little shop thats perfect for lunch. Their sushi is fresh and unique, worth the price for that alone. The salad was tasty and beautiful, everything worked well together. Definitely found my new sushi spot!

Absolutely amazing food and incredible service. The owners were very kind and took the time to explain the usuzukari boxes which are packed with a variety of pickled vegetables, sliced fruits, a salad, sushi rice ,and the fish of your choice. It’s takeout only, but they suggested this beautiful outdoor patio area just up the steps which was absolutely perfect. 10/10 experience

I visited Chef Te’s take out window for the second time and it was outstanding. The first time I visited I ordered a sashimi box that was delicious and beautiful. They also gave me a free miso soup because it was cold and rainy outside. This week I visited with two coworkers and we were surprised with iced tea while we waited for our rolls; I ordered the scallop, and they ordered the salmon and yellowtail roll. All items I’ve tried were so fresh, clearly made with love, and very filling. All my coworkers ask me where I got the sushi from when I bring it back to the office and many have tried for themselves and enjoyed. I will absolutely return again.
