The name Tavi is inspired by the Hebrew word meaning “good or beloved” and that’s what Tavi aims to deliver to the Covington community.

The food was great. The small plates are bigger and more filling than you’d expect. We ordered multiple small plates and were full with leftovers. The menu has a wide variety of options and flavors so everyone was able to find something they liked.

Very good food and excellent service. The Mezze appetizer components were all excellent. A great way to start a meal and experience a wide array Israeli sides. I had the Israeli Salad and added grilled chicken. The salad was good, but I thought that the ratio of cucumbers to tomatoes was off. It was nearly entirely cucumbers. However, everything was very fresh and well plated. The chicken was hot and delicious.

I took my dad there for Father’s Day. Very good food. Expensive but i expected that. I love how they give you hot fresh bread and olive oil at the beginning. They kept refilling ours and I thought we would get full before the main course even came out. Lol!

Phenomenal meal from start to finish! Our server, Michael was fantastic! We went early, which was good because it’s a very small place and I think it would get very loud the more crowded it was. We started with the fried chicken hummus and crawfish flatbread and also got the filet special as an entree. Everything was delicious! Highly recommend!

Tavi’s is a cultural defined eatery. The seating is congested and loud. The menu is overly descriptive. The food is generally ok. We ordered chicken kabobs which taste like chicken. The drink menu is decent. Service was as good as to be expected.

Absolutely delicious. The lamb shank with pomegranates was delightful as was the lamb hummus. My husband and in-laws enjoyed their entrees, as well. It’s definitely on par with Shaya and a great addition to downtown Covington. Can’t go wrong here.

Second day open. Everything went smoothly, and I was impressed with their efficiency despite how crowded it was. They had a full house at lunch, but they were able to find a table for us. Hubby called his lamb sandwich “very flavorful.” He said the flatbread was excellent and I agree. Hubby said “I’ve never had hummus that I’ve liked more than that,” and I agree. Very fresh, delicious with the mint (we had fried chicken hummus). I had the chicken sandwich, which was great. Kind of an Israeli version of the Popeye’s sandwich. I had the orange blossom gelato which was delicious, it had some sort of strawlike or hairlike (per hubby) material on top, which was a cotton candy-ish sweet topping that melted in your mouth. Hubby said the king cake was good by itself because he’s not a fan of caramel sauce, and he really liked the almond gelato served with it. I tried it, and I loved the caramel sauce and felt the gelato balanced the sweetness. Overall, a great meal and we will be back! Service was great!

Wow! Tavi did NOT disappoint. The food was tremendous and our server Michael was awesome. When folks start filling the restaurant it gets loud, and I’d imagine for some people it might be a lot…but that’s something I liked about it — feeling part of a vibrant space with delicious food! Check it out! Try everything! I was so busy enjoying I didn’t take pics of everything we tried!

Dine in, first visit. Very loud, hard to hear and hold a conversation…however, our waiter was attentive, explaining the menu and making recommendations. We never reached dinner…appetizers and small plates filled us up. Enjoyed the wine from Lebanon.
