Everything we had was outstanding. Beautiful restaurant, great wine and liquor selection and delicious food. Fried buratta was a novel take on how to serve but absolutely delicious. Tartare was also a little different as it was served on a potato rosti which added a nice counter to the rich tartare. Strozzapreti was good, nothing too memorable but a solid dish. When we asked the server which item she would pick she chose the burger, odd choice with such a varied menu but she was right. Burger was delicious but fries were the star, perfectly crispy. I am not a big dessert person but I think the butterscotch budino was one of the best desserts I have ever had. Creamy layers of butterscotch pudding, cream and crispy, buttery shortbread on top. Served in a small mason jar so a little difficult to get all items in one bite but worth the effort. Highly recommend if you want delicious high quality food in a quaint New England atmosphere.

An outstanding meal in a beautiful “modern-barn” restaurant with excellent service. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The slight char on the Spanish Octopus on a warm lentil base with a delicious dressing, or the generously sized branzino, meaty and fulfilling, with a slight salt crust and a baked onion cake with creamed spinach – sublime. Dessert’s olive oil cake with enormous and tasty raspberries looked beautiful and was just as good. The sourdough bread’s strong sour taste, accompanied by soft butter sprinkled with coarse salt was so satisfying.

Wow, utterly amazing dinner. Great food, great cocktails, great service. Highly recommended. We had the lamb rib appetizer (fall of the bone tender), cacio e pepe (nice funky and cheesy), branzino (great crispy skin) and scallops (perfectly cooked). All were delicious and would order again. Enjoy!!!

Unfortunately, we will not go back. And, be sure to check your bill. They overcharged us on two different visits. We had to call to get the bill adjusted. No apology — they seemed annoyed that we caught on. Additionally, we had brunch and the couple we were with ordered the short ribs. They were dry and stringy. We pointed it out to the waiter because I prefer to let the establishment know, rather than leave a poor review. The waiter even commented that the meat looked dry. He said he would “see what he could do.” The solution was to offer us a free dessert – at brunch. We don’t eat dessert, so we declined. That was it. That was the compromise offered. So we paid almost $100 for uneatable short ribs.

Dont order lamb ribs, uncuttable, no meat, raw and impossible to eat, even with my hands! Salad was good. My husband ordered cauliflower kofta which he didnt like, didnt taste like cauliflower at all. Not a large plate entree! Raw Beef was well seasoned.

This place has gone downhill quite a bit. I went with my boyfriend. My grilled lamb ribs appetizer was completely burnt to a crisp with little to no meat on it. They seemed to be some kind of mini lamb ribs as I have had this in the past where they were larger lamb ribs and they were exceptional and not burnt. I had some kind of shrimp pasta dish which was delicious. I ordered the snap pea drink which used to come with an actual snap pea on a stick in the drink which was a beautiful garnish in the past. Evidently this time they were too cheap to put the snap pea in the drink. It is little details like this, that made me like this place, but now I guess they are cutting corners to save money. Why would you cut corners? When people go out they want to feel like they are being spoiled. Another pet peeve of mine is when you have different waiters and waitresses coming to the same table. When a couple walks into a restaurant, the waitor or waitress for the whole evening should walk up to their table and greet them and tell the couple their name. There should not be 2-3 different people walking up to the table constantly interrupting the people. They should have one person for the entire evening. And also there was an out of control screaming baby at the table next to us. I know Gray Barns cannot control this, but why don’t couples get a babysitter when they go out to dinner, so that other couples can actually enjoy their dinners without it feeling like a horror movie. I always want to listen to loud shrieking babies from hell when I am trying to eat my dinner, don’t you? Honestly, I think restaurants shoud have a no babies policy. Maybe even a no children policy. Or possibly sit all of the families with babies/children in one room that is closed off, that way those who are trying to have a romantic evening with a spouse do not have to be subjected to loud, crying babies thus destroying their evening.

Can’t wait to go back. This place was pretty pricey but honestly you get what you pay for. Roasted oysters were absolutely the best. I had the duck breast as my entree and it was cooked to perfection. Drinks were also very well balanced. Alot of care went into this place from the food, to drinks, and to atmosphere. The staff was also excellent. Very attentive and friendly. There is also valet which is nice.

Incredible selection of liquors (Japanese whiskeys and more). Great view from the bar area, service was top notch and atmosphere was lively. Food was expensive but well worth it. The quality was unbelievable. I had the carrot appetizer and chicken breast large plate. Haven’t had chicken taste thay good that in my life. Chocolate torte dessert was great too. Everything tasted like it was made with care and expertise. Valet was a bit scattered but it was busy. Wish there was self parking unless I didn’t know about it.
