Me and my Wife go here to eat every now and then since it’s a place near our house. We were surprised to see that it had taken new ownership. From the time we walked in we noticed a change it the vibe of the place. It was very clean and inviting. We were greeted as we walked in and were able to order right away at the counter. The food came out quick and the portions were huge for one plate. All in all it was a great experience and great food. Definitely will be back again.

It takes a LOT for me to post, but I’ll never ever go back to taste of Japan in reidsville. The salads they served as an appetizer was MUSH, brown MUSHY lettuce. I didn’t touch mine, when the waitress came and asked if she could take them I said “yeah it was a little too brown for me” she just said “yeah” and walked away. The soup was really oily, I love some chicken broth and it was awful. Finally I got my food and I ordered steak and shrimp, never have I been anywhere they cut my shrimp up into pieces. And the “vegetables” was straight onions with a few carrots mixed it. Just awful. The guy working the register was given cash/change by a lady paying for her food and he asked the lady how much the change was because “he was awful at counting change” and proceeded to say this multiple times… Don’t go here.

If you don’t know what authentic Japanese food is like, it might be okay. I have NEVER had miso soup like that, the fried rice is just soy sauced rice, the rolls are barely held together, and for such low quality it was way overpriced. I’m not sorry I tried it, but I won’t be back.

This was the last opportunity we will allow Taste of Japan to serve us. We went this past Thursday evening and it was truly awful. The picture of the salad does not show just how wilted the iceberg lettuce was. It is hard to believe the waitress thought it was acceptable and brought it to the table. The food was purely average if not below average. It was not worth near the $60.00 we paid. The shrimp is typically cooked past well done. The rice stay on the grill so long that it is burnt and too crunchy to chew. The vegetables sit in a chaffing dish so long you have to wonder if they are left over from the day before. On top of that the waitress never once returned to our table after bring our food out. We never got refills on our drinks. Be warned…you will be wasting your money. From now on we will head to Greensboro and spend $30 more and a true Japanese steak house dining experience.

Ordered the Hibachi chicken and it literally tasted like chicken covered in Turkey gravy. Fried rice is not fried rice. Overall this place is highly disappointing and is DEFINITELY not a taste of Japan.

Over priced not good save your money. The Japanese food truck in reidsville is better than this place and half the price. I paid $14 for this not again. The staff was nice tho. The soup smelled funny and the white sauce was off. The only vegetable that came in my plate was onions i was suppose to get carrots and zucchini but got very little of that.

This place should not qualify to advertise the name, and definitely doesn’t deserve the 1 STAR, my instinct when I walked in was to turn around and walk back out, So because I stayed to give it a chance it was a bad idea I basically had a plate of onions with a side of rice, my family’s plates were bad as well but we tried to make the best of it and not send it back. It was a small restaurant so I know they heard our conversation of the meal, instead of coming over to check on us because they should have been concerned of their service they kept right on staying back in the kitchen area so when I paid for the worst meal I’ve ever taken my family to and the waitress acted if she had did us some sort of favor, I prayed for the people in that kitchen that God will give them the boldness to do better or close down. I feel that it would’ve been a little better if the cook had come over and showed some sort of concern for what was given to us as a meal and how he could have done better. That’s What a Responsible Restaurant would have done. Do Better!!
