Best tofu I have had in town. Orange chicken was amazing. The food was overall very good. I was disappointed that the dry pot cauliflower had bacon on it and this was not made clear in the menu, unpleasant surprise to our vegetarian.

02/24/23- I walked in and the lady came out from the back. She was friendly. Her English is limited, so try to be patient.

I have to say I put hight expectation on this restaurant, so I was kind of disappointed. One of my friends study at Purdue for 7 years told us that is the one that he love the most. Maybe I was spoiled by some of the great Chinese restaurant in WI, IL. This is just an okay Chinese restaurant. Typical decent Chinese restaurant in WI or IL, always provide fancy tableware, but this is a little bit far behind. The food we ordered with green pepper was not spicy and tongue-numbing enough. The food here were not that bad, but just don’t put high expectation after reviewing the picture from the store owner.

Great food – definitely the best sichuan food in West Lafayette and that’s what I care about most when I go out to eat. I don’t really care that much about the service, but I’ve had generally fine experiences here – not mind-blowing service, but things come out quickly and the staff is polite and welcoming.

A well spread out restaurant, with great ambience (just ignore the strip mall you pull into!). The food tastes great, even to those of us spoiled Californians with access to amazing Chinese. Try the standards like ma po tofu and Singaporean noodles. Add to that Seaford tofu, prok dumplings, or the many other Sichuan dishes. Service at Taste is good, prompt. If you have a Chinese person in your party, that makes communicating even easier.

The price and food are alright, but the service is really bad. One of the waiter there is racist to her own country people. We were doing the hotpot with 8 people, and the average price plus tips was almost 40 dollars per person. We tipped 20%, which we thought was reasonable, and the old lady there said American customers usually tip above 20%. Nice one, and we would never come again.

We decided to try the two flavored soup. The two flavors we picked were the tomato base and the spicy base. Both of the bases were really good the level 2 spicy was definitely hot enough, not sure how crazy level 3 would be. For the meats we picked fatty beef, spicy beef and the delicious mashed shrimp. We picked sweet potato noodles napa cabbage and been sprouts. The fatty beef cabbage and sprouts were really good. I think next time we do this it will just be those. The noodles made it hard to eat any didn’t add to the flavor.

The ambience and food are great. Perfect for family dinners or date nights. Reasonable prices and great portion sizes. Had a little difficulty communicating with lady serving our table, but she had a google translate open, so everything went smooth. Kudos to google, and the lady for smart use of it. She was very friendly and patient while serving us too. Will definitely recommend it.

The cauliflower in grilled fish is rotten and some of them even are green and moldy. When we said it to the waiter, she didn’t show any sign of apology and we just have 5% off due to this rotten food. Definitely not recommend to go to this sloppy and unsanitary restaurant.

Since it began its business in early 2019, I came here several times. As for a dine-in, it has been not bad – foods have been good (but salty and dry). But for a to-go, I likely and always waited for a long time. Often the initial estimated time suddenly changed. One time, they said they didn’t see my to-go order that I made one hour earlier, saying they didn’t know why but I had to wait for 30 minutes more. I don’t wanna blame the personnel serving there, but they seem too unprofessional.
