Overall this was a great experience! The chips and salsa were complimentary and tasty! The staff was friendly! The Birria tacos were delicious! The variety of individual tacos we ordered tasted great, and they definitely were not stingy on any meat filling. The only downside was the chicken enchilada plate – it lacked flavour (the enchiladas) and the sauce was a little sour. But overall, we would definitely go back!

I recently visited Taqueria Y Fonda La Mexicana in Manhattan and was blown away by their amazing food. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect place to enjoy a delicious Mexican meal. But what really stood out to me was their Cactus Taco. It was a work of art – the combination of tender cactus, tangy salsa, and fresh cilantro on a warm corn tortilla was simply divine. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and I found myself savoring each one. This is definitely a must-try dish for anyone who loves Mexican food. I highly recommend Taqueria Y Fonda La Mexicana for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine in Manhattan.

They charge too much for Guac and Pico. The meat probably has too much fat on it like most places these days.

First experience here was in 2003 … it was 5 stars back then, I’ll give 4 now. They used to give you lots of chips with 3 different salsas, now they give a handful of chips and 1 salsa. Still one of the best Mexican restaurants in Manhattan. The burritos and quesadillas are my all time favorites.

I got the enchiladas with green mole sauce. It was fantastic! I would definitely recommend this place for unpretentious, filling, and cheap Mexican food versus other places in the area.

It’s a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. Food is simple and delicious. Great spot for students or families looking to stretch a dollar. I love to eat and I am very satisfied by two tacos, stuffed if I eat three.

Absolute best mexican food on the upper west side. All day $8 drinks. Enchiladas, massive giant burritos. Everything on the menu is so tasty and flavorful.
