The Taqueria Los Pepitos Locos is a great local, small Mexican restaurant. The food is quality and the service is nice. There is never a long wait for your food, and it’s always fresh and hot. The horchata is fantastic, along with the Tacos, the meat was well cooked, but not dry. Lots of menu options. Sit inside or on the covered patio with propane heaters. Lots of options with a big menu.

The salsa has no flavor or spice. Got the steak burrito and the meat looks like it’s boiled, has no seasoning. The salsa I ordered with chips is chips from a grocery store tortilla chip bag and watery, bland salsa. The rice, beans and flan are good.

This place is so underrated! Been coming here for years, never disappointed. The produce is very fresh. Only authentic mexican place Ive found that uses fresh and flavorful ingredients. Seems like most hope you will use lots of hot sauce and not notice. Plantain burrito is unbeatable! Service is always friendly. Spicy margarita hits the spot. I love thwie classic salsa. Ambiance is a little stale- indoor seating could use an upgrade, hard metal seats just not comfortable. Cant fault the place otherwise.

I had lunch at Los Pepitos Locos yesterday because I had noticed this taqueria several times. It has a good sized parking lot which was really nice since 42nd is such a busy street so I had intended on street parking originally. The dining room is big and nicely decorated. The menu has a wide variety of items to choose from including American breakfasts, salads, Centro American and Mexican dishes. Super tasty fresh salsa and chips. We ordered several dishes; the vegetarian plate, the chile rellano burrito and a chicken taco plate. The dishes were all excellent and seasoned well. The portions are generous. The Chile rellano burrito was the best one I’ve had yet. The vegetarian plate was plentiful with fried cabbage, broccoli and zucchini served with refried beans – it was so tasty and the veggies were seasoned perfectly with salt and black pepper. The chicken taco plate was tasty and I used the salsa verde on those tacos. Super tasty very fresh ingredients at this restaurant I’ll definitely be back soon!

Fun place for beers and tequila shots. Low key and very casual place. The Mole Rojo was good. The Salvadoran recipes were good too. Only 4 stars because the food was good but nothing spectacular but I will go back to try Salvadoran dishes that are new to me.

I don’t give the full 5 stars easily! This place is great! A very clean, fast and inviting place:) the food is yummy, quick and well portioned. I came in, in spring. I look forward to dining on their outdoor patio with their drink menu items! Very good place for family, friends and a good time in the neighborhood.

My order from Los Pepitos was quite disappointing. The kids pupusa meal didn’t come with the side of rice and beans. Additionally, my food was burnt in certain areas (all of the beans in the nachos were burnt to a crisp) and the nachos were very chewy. However, the carnitas meat was very delicious, which is why I gave two stars.
