This family Mexican restaurant is great for authentic Mexican food–it’s not Chipotle or Taco Bell. The salsa and food is made that same day you order so it takes longer than usual to get your food. It’s definitely worth to wait for the mole, tacos, or guevos rancheros. Definitely order from here.

This is my go to taco spot in the neighborhood for sure. Large portions, reasonable prices and delicious food. I tend to order their chicken, carnitas and lengua tacos. Yes they are stingy with the green sauce but I just buy a large green sauce at the supermarket and enjoy the tacos very happily drowned in green sauce and lime juice, just the way I like them! Oh and pay with cash so you don’t get charged a bit extra for using card. The people who work here have always been friendly and professional so good customer service in my experience as well.

I ordered the chorizo nachos and they were absolutely DELICIOUS & fresh! (I feel the need to mention I am Mexican) The servings were generous and priced reasonably for what you get. The salsas also had a really good flavor, will definitely come back!

The food in here is good but the lady that picks up the phone is not professional at all she took my order when I asked for flautas de pollo and queso when I go to picked up my order she told me they don’t do it mix just chicken or cheese and she has chicken for me excuse me you don’t choose or tell me what I’m going to eat specially if I’m paying for it. I told her I have pictures of the flautas mix and she told me she didn’t care about it I told her I was going to leave a bad review she said she didn’t care either. They are very inconsistent and depends who picks up the phone you will get your order how you like it very disappoint specially since the food is so good.

I just ordered from here on GrubHub and… it’s been a while since I’ve been this pleased. My expectations were completely blown away. The food was delightful! It’s exactly what I needed. If you want genuine Mexican food in the Washington Heights/Inwood area of NYC, then Taqueria Los Jarritos is it. If you want Chipotle or Taco Bell, this is not the place for you. If you want silky, spicy, and deeply rich Mole, there is no better place than Taqueria Los Jarritos. If you want genuine, Mexican tacos with homemade corn tortillas, you have come to right place. Yes, your order will take more time than usual. They run a tight staff at this restaurant and they make everything to order so please be patient. Let me also address a couple of criticisms I’ve read. I have ordered guacamole from them several times. Yes, I agree, this is not typical guacamole. It is “crema de aguacate”, or avocado cream. It’s something you will like or not but I just want to give you all a heads up. My only real criticism of Taqueria Los Jarritos is I can sometimes taste freezer burn in my food. Maybe their refrigerator/freezer needs replacing or maybe their food needs to be stored properly in air-tight containers. Still, this is a minor criticism. I love Taqueria Los Jarritos. It’s family run and operated. Please support this excellent independent restaurant in our neighborhood.
