We typically drive to the Northside of town for Mexican food because let’s be honest, Jersey Village, Cypress area lacks authentic Mexican food. There are plenty of tex-mex options, but not real Mexican dishes. We wanted to explore our options nearby and this place has decent reviews. The restaurant is in a small shopping center so the parking is limited. I would say it’s a hole in the wall. We stopped by on Monday, around noonish. The place was actually packed, only 2 booths open, so I felt that was a good sign. We sat down and the seats were pretty beaten. Torn and sunken. Immediately we were greeted and the waitress took our drink order. A few minutes later, we were given chips and salsa. Nothing spectacular. We tend to judge a restaurant by how good the chips and salsa are, so far, we were not impressed. Our drinks came out and we placed our order. Aside from his main order, my husband wanted two tacos of desehebrada meat. Yes, they sell tacos, yes they had desehebrada meat, but they only offered the meat in flautas. We asked if we could purchase two and were told no because the flautas are already prepared, mind you, they have a sign that reads “All food made fresh, prepared when you order” so if they’re already prepared, then is that considered fresh? He really wanted to try the meat, so he purchased the entire plate of flautas. My dish, the “super chilaquiles”, nothing super about it. The chilaquiles had no flavor and were not spicy. The beans were smeared on the plate, meaning hardly any were given. The eggs were cooked perfectly though. The meat, the “bistec” was horrible. Honestly the meat tasted like liver. The hubs had the barbacoa al vapor, not flavorful at all. Now the flautas plate was good. The meat was good and the rice, was very good. Both of the hot sauces, green and orange were both good as well, but that’s about it. We’ll continue exploring this side of town for good Mexican food.

Good service , food was good overall the only thing was the corn tortillas had little to no flavor. The rest of the food was really good & it is not to pricey.

I gave it three stars because the tortillas are from scratch or else I would have given the food a two. Not a fan of the menudo. It looked good, it had hominy like I like, and the tripe was cut nicely but it lacked flavor for me. My husband asked for the “sopes de chicharron” and he didn’t have better luck. He was also disappointed. This was our first time visiting on the recommendation of a friend. I’m sure she must have eaten a different breakfast plate. The waiters were friendly.

Great atmosphere to sit down and enjoy the music and eat food, the tortillas hechas a mano are a plus as it gives the food a more authentic flavor and presentation, the super chilaquiles were a good breakfast and the tacos as well. Glad I stopped and got some good food and service.

This place is horrible to eat for breakfast. Don’t go there. Their tortillas are fake and their chilaquiles are wet and nasty and also their breakfast plate with the meat. It is not bistec it was sour milanesa do you know what’s crazy about this place you have to get 2 tacos if you wanna buy any tacos from them, they don’t sell the taco 1 taco at a time, the service bad I drove a hour to go eat there because I seen the reviews. I think those reviews are fake. We were charged $72 for three people. This place is very expensive and it’s not worth it don’t go there. I promise you will not be happy, if you go there you will be upset!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Came in right as they opened on Sunday morning. Ordered 4 Breakfast tacos. Very good flour tortilla. They filled the tacos well. Good flavor on the eggs. The time I spend at the Natatorium now I have a solid taqueria!

I love this place. It’s one of my favorites to have breakfast. I love their menudo and the chilaquiles are great. I also like the limonada. A cute hole in the wall. I get how you might feel ignored if you first walk in. But it’s seat yourself and I think they assume everyone knows that . Still a great place to eat
