Great Thai food. We dined in on a Saturday night. The place was half full. Went to the counter and asked to be seated. We got the Tom kha soup and wonton soap to start. I recommend both. I recommend medium spicy on the Tom kha with shrimp. It’s was creamy and flavorful. For the main course I we got the Thai fried rice and crazy noodles with chicken. Both of them were good. Highly recommend the crazy noodles. The service was not great. We didn’t get silverware or tissues when we sat down. The food also took a while may be because the kitchen was busy with online and takeout orders. Overall great food but wish the service was a better and quicker.

If I could give this place more than five stars, I would. The food was so delicious, the prices were reasonable, and the staff were so friendly.

It is true, this is maybe the best Thai restaurant in the area. Feels almost like a hidden gem. Oftentimes the other place down the road is fully packed, and at Tamarind, where the food is just as good if not better, almost all tables are available. Locals are well aware of this place though, and there is a constant stream of people stopping by for their takeout. The food is great, and affordable, service is great too. Compare Tom Yum soup at Tamarind with what they serve at another Thai-food place in Clifton Park — at Tamarind they give you two shrimps, and bunch of vegetables and mushrooms in the bowl; but at the other place it is mostly water and just one shrimp. Be aware though, this is a more authentic Thai food, so if you ask for “medium hot” it will be much spicier than in other westernized Thai restaurants, but I like it this way better.

This restaurant is one of the best Thai restaurants you can find near Albany NY. So what makes it different for Indian taste? Especially, me being a food lover I like duck, tilapia and shrimp Thai dishes. The restaurant may not look very sophisticated but definitely the chef and kitchen are really good! Give a try and you won’t go wrong in your decision.

Very impressed! Driving around Latham, nothing was standing out. So my friend and I popped into Tamarind Thai and we’re completely blown away. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the woman running the restaurant was incredibly friendly and efficient.
