The reviews made me doubt about whether to try the food or not, but honestly it was worth it. I had ordered flautas with chicken, tamales both red and green, they were clearly the BEST I’ve ever tried. The food I tried tasted like the ones I grew up with, the waiting and money was worth all the food & it was in fact the cheapest ever. ❤️ (I honestly don’t get why they are saying that the tamales are dry and not at temperature at all when I literary burned myself )

Best thing about this taco was the onion. Tortilla and meat were both VERY DRY. I don’t think any cook (beginner or trained) could turn al pastor meat to a black crisp, which leads me to believe the meat was pre-cooked and then re-heated :/

It’s the best tamales (esp the cheese and pepper and chicken ones for me) in Waukegan and one of the best mole enchilidas I ever had. Very highly recommend – esp their chicken dishes be it tamales or enchilidas. My gf loves their green chicken tamales and chorizo and eggs

I was really optimistic based on reviews; and I was surprised how good the food was. I’m from Chicago and relocated, so I was looking for the best tamales in the area. Red sauce for tamales tasted amazing and my husband felt like there was enough sauce on the green ones. Actually could really tell they were green tamales. And a little over $28 for 12 tamales is a very good price! I can buy 12 for $40 in Chicago and they taste so much worse. If you can, it’s worth the trip to this restaurant for quality, authentic tamales.

Tamales are pretty damn good. Also had the Huevos Mexicanas good portion size and filling. Menudo was flavourful but notice it was not like the other menudos I have had with pozole… they serve it with no bread. So above all I would go again for tamales and plates but going to not order the menudo next time. Also good variety on the Mexican drinks in a bottle.

Great place to buy a very good tamales specially “rajas tamales” the ones are more tasty and delicious. They really know how to make a real taste rajas tamales my favorite tamales or they do too green salsa or red salsa tamales with pork or chicken meet. Love to eat my tamales with a good black coffee in the morning or any time in a very cold day

First time in there today (mother’s day). I got a dozen tamales and three tacos (el pastor and chicken). I ordered the tocos American style and they made them Mexican style. The error was realized before they gave me the food. They then made the order right and gave me the original Mexican style tacos for free! Nice to see they take care of their customers. The food was amazing too. I’ll definitely will be coming back several times a month.
