Absolutely the best food that I’ve had in a long time. Pork tenderloin with turnip greens and black eye peas and mashed potatoes. Topped off with a lemon cake and sweet tea. All for less than $10. . Everyone was extremely friendly and made sure that we were completely satisfied. I definitely recommend this place. And will definitely stop in there again the next time I travel through the area.

The first time I eat here was Friday 6-25-21 . This place has the real deal biscuits I’m talking home maid HUGE cat head biscuits and they taste like a 90 year old grandma from Alabama made them. (fluffy & fall apart) I had 2 bacon egg cheese biscuits. (unreal) Each time I go to the lake this is my go to place. The Alabama biscuit company in Birmingham cant compete with this place. I would love to see a pimento cheese bacon egg or sausage pimento cheese and egg 🙂 just an idea 🙂

First time we went my rueben was one of the best I’ve had. Owner was friendly as could be. We went again and I tried the steak sandwich. It was a paper thin cut of skirt steak held together with a big old chunk of fat. Now it wasn’t expensive but it wasn’t what I was expecting. I asked if maybe they had another cut of meat without as much fat? Mind you im being as polite as possible.. the waitress grabs the owner who walks up and tells me there is no fat on my steak and thats the best cut of meat he had.. his attitude was questionable to say the least. I’ve worked in and ran restaurants half of my life and they could take a little something from “the customers always right”. It wouldn’t have been hard to simply swap it for something else instead of telling me I’m blind pretty much. We also asked for 2 sides of ranch and got 2 salads with ranch which we didn’t even mention because that could have been a simple miscommunication that we paid for anyways.. He made me a rueben in place of the steak but still charged me the higher price of the steak (which we did not touch) and the rueben was not the same as the first time at all unfortunately.. It really rubbed me the wrong way and we will stick with the coffee shop (a time proven classic) from now on.
