First, let me just clarify that the ONLY thing I’ve eaten here is the chills & guacamole. So my opinion is very limited. However, I was highly disappointed with the quality and taste. It was bland and very watery.

The staff at Tako Taco are its biggest asset, especially the bartender. Their drinks have a creative flourish with the flavor profiles to back it up. We found the food, though, to be just ok. We’ve tried all their tacos, and the only one worth ordering is the chopped roaster pig because of the spicy honey mustard sauce. Otherwise, their meat is bland and their flavor combinations are unremarkable. The tako taco is novel, but we wouldn’t order it again, and we advise steering clear of the shrimp tacos. The queso with the crispy corn tortillas is definitely worth ordering; we actually went back the second time only because I had a craving for it. Barring another random craving, however, I can’t guarantee we’d go back unless they revamped their menu. There are too many truly good places in downtown Knoxville to go back to somewhere just ok.

I got the octopus tacos they were good could have been great if they had a bit more seasoning the salsas on the table were really good

The most recent visit i had to this place was completely different from my last visit. The menu was more digestive friendly and most everything is made of ingredients that don’t contain any gluten. A fully gluten-free place except for maybe a dessert or two is super rare. The management and the servers were so fun and friendly. I couldn’t believe I was in the same place as last time. What a delightful menu with lots of interesting flavors and tastes. The mole sauce is to die for. There’s so many good things about this place. I can’t wait to go back. You must try the empanadas.

Right next to the venue for a concert we went to see. Easily walkable, nice atmosphere, tasty food, and incredibly fast service. I would definitely eat here again. We also got a delicious mocktail called the Dratini that I’d highly recommend. 🙂

Not at all impressed with the food. The guacamole had zero flavor. The break your own tortilla chips was really messy. I guess it would be fun for kids. Used to getting at least chips and salsa as you wait. No salsa, just some unlabeled and dirty bottles of what looked like taco sauce.

My partner and I kept wanting to try Tako Taco, but never made it in until tonight. The atmosphere was phenomenal. Rachel waited on us and was an absolute gem. We started with chips and salsa. It wasn’t what we were expecting, but it was delicious. I got a Passion Fruit margarita and followed that up with their Ginger one. Both were delicious. I tasted my partner’s vodka and pineapple, which was great. The bartender did a fantastic job recommending a brand of vodka. I ordered a bowl Creamy Mushroom Barley soup. It was warm and just what I needed. I tried my partner’s ribs. The meat was tender, juicy, and fell off the bone (ribs done right). Jake is an amazing chef. We will definitely be back.

Tako Taco food and service are top notch. I love their constantly changing specials and the house margarita is delicious! Their chips are amazing and the queso is sooo good. Perfect spot if you’re headed to a show at the Mill and Mine.

The food is fantastic and has a ton of flavor. The fries come with an amazing sauce that you will become addicted to. The menu options are full of different ingredients that make your mouth water. Jesse from Kaizen opened this and if you’re a fan of that, then you’ll love this place. The restaurant alone has a great atmosphere and the outside seating is perfect. There’s a bar in front of the kitchen and it’s really fun to watch the chefs prepare the dishes. It’s definitely a great place for small plates and drinks that will have you coming back.

Definitely paying for the atmosphere, not the food. The “Ribeye taco” meat is fried…to death…and has the texture and flavor of gravel. My husband and I swapped them out for got pork tacos, wich left us both nausious. The place is cute, the menu desperately needs a revamp.
