In the shadow on San Jose, Tacos Yanga didn’t deliver on taste. The carne asada was under seasoned. The tortillas were cold (but they didn’t break!), the rice and beans were on the more bland side.

To be fair there’s so much competition for Mexican cuisine in Grand Rapids which is the only reason this wasn’t a 5 star. The service was fast and kind and the food was home made and fresh. Good prices, good portions. This is mainly a carry out and has limited indoor seating. A charming vintage canopy and colorful flags hang over outdoor seating for sunnier days.

Very friendly staff! In former Taqueria San Jose building. Taco’s were good. Good size and value. 9/28/22 got burrito was excellent. Again great staff!

Food wasn’t bad, but the chicken, Al pastor, and steak tacos all weren’t very flavorful. Taqueria San Jose, which was the place that was here before Tacos Yanga, was way better. It’s a shame. Hopefully they will spice and marinate their meat more in the future

20/10 if I could give more stars I would. 100% authentic Hispanic cuisine, fast food that’s been maturing flavor just for your tastebuds. If you’re in Grand Rapids, Michigan and haven’t tried Tacos Yanga, you’re missing out on the best tacos in Michigan and quite possibly the world imo. Amazing job to Ceecee & family hitting a home run here!
