Don Pancho had a vision to create a fast casual Mexican restaurant that would provide true Mexican flavor. This is how the Palenque chain was born. Originally from Sinaloa, Mexico and now a U.S. citizen, Don Pancho originally founded El Pollo Loco© which was a success that led him to open his first Taco Palenque® back in 1987 in Laredo, Texas. Taco Palenque® is mainly known for its authentic Mexican tacos.
It has become the ultimate place to spend time with family and friends while enjoying a meal. In fact, positive word of mouth has had a major impact on our satisfied customers. There are several Taco Palenque® locations operating throughout the south region of Texas and are continuing to grow.

Food is normally super good, but this time, the fajitas were not tender, and the tortilla were on the tough side. The tacos were not warm but the fideo was delicious. Kinda disappointed after looking forward to the tacos

Ordered the two pirata Jr combo. This was what it looked like. Thought maybe they accidently put too little of the meat in my taco, so I brought it up to one of the employees, and I guess the manager heard and said that there was no mistake. “The pirata Jr taco only has 1 oz of meat.” So yeah… $15 meal comes with 2 oz of meat, carrots beans and a drink. Just FYI.

GREAT VALUE for the QUANTITY and QUALITY of food they served. The sauce island was WELL STOCKED and had a PHENOMENAL VARIETY of condiments to further enhance the experience. The atmosphere was buzzing with POSITIVE ENERGY and PROFESSIONAL.

I love Taco Palenque, specially this location, they make my Tacos Callejeros the way I like them. You can come here for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Staff is friendly, and there’s an employee that he always stands out, his name is Johnny, he is very attentive, and always ready when a customer arrives. I highly recommend this location in specific, and their food is great, as well as the tostaditas and the salsa bar!!

This is my second bad experience at this location literally within a span of 1 month. I got overcharged once and now today I find a large whole bug in my fideo. I had just eaten my chicken fajita burrito before I found the bug. Now I’m feeling kinda nauseous because I don’t know if the burrito might have had something also. This place is really declining fast not sure if it’s new staff or what but it’s not worth going unless you want poor service and bugs in your food.

Food is delicious here. Whenever I want to grab some Mexican food, Taco Palenque is one of my go to spots. One thing I have to admit is be sure to check your order during busy hours cause it does get packed and hectic and you could end up with missing items or the wrong order.

It had been a while since I went to Taco Palenque. They have made some improvements and I’m really glad I went. They offer delicious authentic Mexican as well as Texican food: the street tacos are served on the traditional two small corn tortillas. They also have full sized tacos, which are well stacked, burritos, quesadillas, parrilladas, “breakfast tacos,” enchiladas (entomatadas, mole, green red, suizas, you name it), tostadas, plates, and more.

Was supposed to go out with my girlfriend and mama, but my girlfriend got busy and my mama was tired after getting off work. So I decided to come here. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Taco Palenque. So it it was good good substitute. A nice little solo lunch. In the midst of the coronavirus it’s nice to know that some of my favorite spots to eat are still open. Social distancing is practiced here for dining in. So no need to worry about that.

I’m not surprised to read another review here had the same issue I experienced at this location today. The female cashier with tattoos was extremely rude. There is a sign on the door asking for customers to wear masks and this employee was very rude telling me how she couldn’t hear/understand what I was saying when I was placing my order. Also, she got the order wrong and has to call someone to reverse the charge. I ordered fish tacos and it is supposed to come with sauce, and well here’s a picture of the so-called sauce they put in the taco. Don’t advertise something and expect customers will be okay with not getting what they ordered.
