This is my absolute go to favorite place for Mexican food, I’ve been coming here since they opened the doors, everything on there wall menu is down right authentic Mexican food, and it destroys any other Mexican restaurant in this area, actually better then any other Mexican place I’ve ever been, I recommend the steak and cheese burrito, and the steak and cheese over fries, or tortillas, there homemade hot sauce should be on store shelves world wide, there three other locations I believe, and there all great, but at the mason st one, the husband and wife do the cooking, and when there at the grills you will understand why they thrive, and why they’ve lasted so long, please people give them a try, I swear you’ll think your in Mexico, parking is good, the bathrooms are small but clean, and get the job done, seating is limited, but there’s usually a spot, most people order for pickup, I can’t say enuff good things about this place, go and get your fill, make them roll you out the door, and go there with an open mind, and an appetite…ENJOY!!!

The owner is extremely rude, and he’s always at the front counter. Someone else mentioned that he doesn’t like white women, and I would have to agree. I also happen to speak Spanish, so perhaps they shouldn’t discuss patrons in front of them–in Spanish–because they think they can’t understand. They weren’t just discussing me either. There are at least 20 other Mexican restaurants in this area to enjoy with much better quality food, and a cleaner, more welcoming atmosphere.

Worst experience ever! First, the owner was rude and seemed like he was mad. Than, I noticed he had charged me more than what he was supposed, so I asked a mean face woman (found out later that she is the owner’s wife) to right down what they had charged me, and she did not like it, but told that he had charged me 2 horchatas ($6 each) instead of one. She said he had refunded the $6 to my card, but another lie, because I checked and nothing was refunded, so I told her and she gave me the money with a horrible attitude. And last, but not least, the horchata tested like water with sugar. Hate the restaurant, the attitude to try to charge $9 more, because I am white, and the service! I would give 0 star if it was an option.

I started coming here in the 90’s, and when I lived in California, I used to talk about this place. Everyone has their own opinions on authenticity, and (Mexican) regional dishes that their abuela made, but there’s a specific flavor they have that I crave. My Carne asada burrito today was as fantastic as I’ve always had it. Consistency is an admirable trait.

Unfortunately this place has gone straight downhill. The owner in my opinion is racist to white women. Very rude and decided we wanted steak for our order. Unfortunately with no chewing teeth and just getting out of icu for a week because my stomach spores not move or digest I cannot chew or process steak.
