TACO AZUL! A very catchy name and fresh new addition to our choices of the many Taco Shops in East County. Located at an ideal corner, next to 7-11 on the corner of Old Hwy 80 & Lake Jennings Road. A very busy corner with the gas station, as well as other retail & food spaces. It’s lunch time and I was really curious about their 2 for $3 Fish Tacos. We were greeted by a very friendly young lady – Annie, she suggested the Fish Tacos. I had the 2 fish tacos and hubby…carnitas & chicken. The corn tortilla tasted fresh, soft, and garnished with a cabbage slaw & Pico de Gallo. Delicious! The flavors were on point, I used a really flavorful red & green sauce, spiced just right, and of course, I can always ask for more chili’s or extra hot sauce if preferred, but I was fine with these sauces that she offered. The shop was clean, very minimal seating area, the back of the house was organized & clean as well. Calling ahead & ordering is best. I can imagine this little shop will become a regular stop for the locals and us – the neighborhood. Stay consistent, keep the product delectable & fresh, and build your relationship with your regular customers. Suggestions – a weekly Special with a combo drink & chips! – under $5! We will be there, for sure!

Saw a sign that said 2 fish tacos for 3 bucks. They were perfect size for the money. Great taste too. Service was friendly and helpful. The young lady patiently explained the menu items I didn’t know about. Food was made quickly and the place is clean. They have a few tables if you want to eat there. I love these little places.

Incredible tacos. The blue corn tortillas take it from excellent to exceptional. The tortillas are soft, flavorful, and well textured. The price is right too with the street taco combo.

Great price tacos for taco Tuesday. But with great prices came a long wait. There were Only 2 people running the place. One was the cashier/ server/ waitress and the other was the cook. Over all an ok experience. Did notice several people due to wait time.

1.00 street tacos, 2 for 3.00 fish tacos. You can’t go wrong! This place is great, the steak and chicken tastes good, the fish tastes pretty good too! They seem to get the food ready pretty quickly too.

Probably one the best kept secrets in east county being that it’s so new. The food is well priced and worth the money. Staff is very friendly. I believe the owner works the cashier in mornings. She’s very humble and you can tell she actually loves her customers and establishment.

Absolutely the worst bean burritos I’ve ever had. For 8$ I expected at least some bean flavor . That’s a big waste of 24$ and the family is still hungry cause we couldn’t even eat them.

I moved to Pine Valley about a year ago and we finally decided to try it out. the tortillas were the BEST! best part of the tacos we ate. the fries were very crunchy very nice. the biggest issue was that the food was very bland. meat was seasoned but that was the only thing seasoned. fries were not seasoned with salt. made the entire food bland. the worst part…. was the chef or cook. the man was only able to make one dish at a time. tacos came out first. one order of carne asada fries for the kids came out. then mine came out. then the burrito came out. needless to say we didnt all eat together. UPDATE: tortillas on the regular tacos are store bought. EVERYTHING was seasoned this time. my wife and I thought it was a bit too salty this time. They finally got AGUAS FRESCAS! unfortunately the Tamarind one was waaaay too sweet! needed more water. Great Hostes she did a great job. this place is very busy between 6 pm and 8 pm. Our food timing got a bit better. we all ate close to the same time. waited a little for a quesadilla but i think we were waiting for the fries to be fully cooked. overall …. the food was good service was great. the wait is a bit long but good food. the area has several mexican spots but as a hispanic reviewer i tend to be pretty strict or PICKY about how the food is cooked, seasoned and presented. I will give it another star due to the hostes.
