This spot has been hiding in plain sight all this time. Now I regret having missed out on this hidden gem. The barbecue chicken was bathed in a very savory sauce which made it fantastic. The greens and cornbread were a close second to some of the best I’ve had. Take out only so get your meal and devour/enjoy it at home.

The food here is outstanding! The best BBQ in Sacramento. Everything is prepared and cooked to perfection. The pulled pork, ribs, tri-tip, chicken, hot links are delicious and tender. The fried okra is the best I’ve ever eaten. Mac n’ cheese, sweet potato tots, regular tots, corn on the cob, greens and cornbread are all home runs as well. I’m not a huge fan of the potato or macaroni salads, but there’s plenty of other food that I just can’t get enough of! I’m telling you, try them all! Get the 4 way and taste four meats and four sides. It’s a great deal and more than enough food for for people. If you haven’t been here, don’t wait another day! Food sells out early so get there as early as you can. They open at 11am on weekdays and noon on weekends. They have lunch specials during the week also. Don’t forget the desserts they have in the fridge! Banana pudding, red velvet cake, peach cobbler and more southern favorites!

I got their lunch special for $20 and will never go back. There wasn’t much food for the price. It said a half of a hot link but it was literally just a couple bites of the end. The meat was cold in the center which tells me that it was just microwaved, put in the foil, and bbq sauce was just slopped on top. The homemade potato salad had no seasoning. The bbq beans tasted exactly like the Texas ranch beans in the can. I was really feeling like bbq and just happened to drive by this place but unfortunately I will not return… It isn’t worth it.

Horrible experience, horrible trip tip sandwich. This place needs to be shut down. The tri tip sandwich was a joke along with the services. The bread of sandwich was old and seemed microwaved, and so did the meat. It smelt funny and had to thrash it. Employee joking and playing around the kitchen. That is why I didn’t take it back. What a joke on Texas’s bbq name and reputation!!!!

Food was delicious but i worry about its cleanliness. The establishment was definitely very messy and dirty. Many bare sheetrock walls…no paint for months.

The meat options and cornbread taste great. Everything else was literally disgusting. The “gumbo” is pickled jalapeno and okra mixed with canned corn; it tasted as bad as my description sounds. The collard greens were definitely frozen and just cooked in plan water–no salt, pepper, or seasoning. I was also charged an extra $2 for “greens and cornbread”, which was listed as an option for a side (2 sides came with the meal), so I’m not sure why there was an additional charge and why I wasn’t informed. I don’t often write food reviews, but this meal was so nasty that I felt obliged to share the concern.

Very disappointed!!! First time ever having tough chicken!!! The best part of my meal was the bbq sauce. The green beans lacked flavor and fresh seasoning. Macaroni salad is dry and no fresh seasoning. I didn’t try the greens because they looked just like the green beans.
