We came here to eat a quick lunch, expecting to eat Japanese food at the stall next-door, but then wasn’t exactly impressed by what we saw there, and being that I am originally from Hawaii, we decided why not.

I came to the Henry Food Depot in Sanford one day with the goal of trying one thing from every shop. I walked up to Sweet & Salty, and I was really excited about their menu. Love this islander food. I had a hard time choosing.

Trying out Henry’s depot, decided on sweet and salty, got the huli hulu chicken and omg melt in your mouth deliciousness. The chicken is so tender and melt, the sauce is perfectly sweet, the macaroni salad was delicious, and its veteran owned. Loved it!

I had the tofu plate and it was amazing! Didn’t feel like it was lacking anything like many other vegan dishes do. Wonderful staff, will come again

Smash burger was burnt. Bun was not good. $14 with no side?! Needs to be better than 5 Guys double cheese and bacon that is only $11. It’s not even close. If you’re at Henry’s Depot, you want the oak pizza, Ramen, bbq or seafood joint. Sandwiches are pretty good also.

Got a spicy chicken sandwich, coke, and fries and it was $22. Thought it looked great. The chicken sandwich was so plain I didn’t eat it. Other stuff on the menu I wanted to try, but I won’t now.

Best Hawaiian food I’ve had, especially the huli huli chicken and chicken katsu sandwich! Would love to give a 5 star review, but their service could use some work. I’ve only been a few times and have experienced all of the following: 1. One time I arrived at open just to have to wait 15 min because they were running late. 2. Another time I had to stand and wait around the register for 5 min before one of the two employees in the back noticed me. 3. Ordered the “loco moco” but was originally charged for the “loco moco smashburger” (if I wanted the smashburger I would have said smashburger, not sure why the employee made this error), and had to be re-rung up for the correct item.

We were excited to discover this spot, so close to the Auto Train station. We stopped in for a takeout container of kalbi and a musubi for a train snack, and were not disappointed. Great mac salad and kalbi! We also appreciated the ambiance of the converted train depot and looked at each of the other counter stops while we waited for our food.

Huli Huli Chicken was amazing: so well marinated, juicy dark meat and hearty sides to go with. I wish I lived closer, I’d make it my weekly go to. Most friendly and genuine family I’ve ever met.
