Nestled conveniently in the heart of Folsom, Sutter Street Taqueria is nothing short of a hidden culinary gem that has left an indelible mark on my taste buds and heart. As a fervent lover of Mexican cuisine, I can confidently proclaim that this establishment stands head and shoulders above the rest, earning its rightful place as the best Mexican restaurant in town!

Wonderful little taco joint. They have a TON of options, but rest assured, whatever you choose you will get a lot of it. They were not stingy with the portions. The tacos I had were absolutely delicious. Overall the restaurant is clean and has a good bit of seating for being a smaller place. They do military and veteran discounts and also have a pay it forward program where you can buy a meal for someone less fortunate who may come in. If you’re in the area you should definitely consider stopping by for some delicious food.

Normally come in here a few times a month. Last couple times staff was very un welcoming. However, this time was an avalanche of bad business. As I waited for my food I watched them treat a lady with a small dog out front rude ( just because she tied her dog up outside to order then go back out.) This is Sutter Street and one of the best things about Sutter Street is that people walk with their families and pets and almost everyone welcomes pets. Just thought it was gross how she was treated.

Carnitas Chili Verde burrito is my go to here. Decently spicy. The green salsa (in the bottles) is usually darn good. Love the guacamole here. Since Im one of those that finds Cilantro tastes like strong dishwasher soap I’m ecstatic they don’t put it in their guacamole (order without the pico if you share the same genetic trait as it has lots of Cilantro).

We were greeted by Broom Hilda with an attitude she was doing us a favor. After placing our order and paying we asked for chips and salsa, which was another charge of $3.23 unbelievable!!!! In all my years we have never been charged for chips and salsa at any other Mexican restaurant. One of our orders was wrong and had to be made while everyone else ate. The quality of food was average at best.

I wasn’t sure about a $4 taco, but it is well worth it. The Pelican Bay community could take a few pointers on a prison town and what it offers as far activities for vistors and a nice downtown area. Nice historic district. Several other eateries and sites in the area that are worth a visit.

Gave us a spittle of sauce. Literally not even enough to dip one chip. I went back in to ask for more “that’s the boss’s order” no apology, no “let me get you more” just the explanation “sauce is expensive, do you want the boss’s number?” Seriously. There’s other places open. DO NOT GO HERE.

This was a terrible experience. The staff was nice, but the food was horrible. We ordered the beef tacos, the meat looked funny, and smelt a little off. The Pico definitely didnt look fresh. I was only able to take a few bites before my stomach started hurting. I was miserable for the rest of the afternoon. I will not be going back.

We used to frequent the taqueria. You try to support local businesses as long as there is value for you as a consumer. Our last two visits were dismal. The place is being run by teenagers with a bad attitude. They make you feel unwelcome from the beginning. They don’t want to be there and they don’t want you to be there. The food was a reflection of the employees. Tortillas were dried. Burritos fell apart. They were just focused on going home. Reached out to the owner on her cell. Didn’t respond to my initial text. Sent a second one and she told me that she would follow up with me. Never did. Looks like my concerns were not important.
