Just like my Sushi Pier review, Sushi Lover’s was disappointing. I had high expectations due to reviews I’ve read and recommendations from a co worker. The place did not live up to it. The fish was not fresh, menu was limited. No edamame, seaweed salad, mussels, desert with all you can eat lunch. For an extensive menu, you would have to get the all you can eat dinner. This place is for those who limit themselves with less choices even though the menu seems large, you are limited to choose with the “all you can eat.” Check out the menu photos I added and read it carefully. Personally I didn’t think the food was worth the price. Might be good for others but not me. Enjoy ☺

Where to start……..Too many good things about this place. I’ll start with the great: Staff is welcoming and the owner has a great background. The kind of small business I want to support. The sushi is fresh and they have endless options for their endless sushi on the menu. This is under new ownership from what I understand so if you have been here before I would recommend stopping by again.

One of us ordered the buffet. The guy who delivered the food constantly reminded us in a condescending voice “no sharing.” He did it 4 times rudely as he threw our orders on the table. The waitress reminded us too. The place has tons of cameras and monitors and you are being watch at all times. Later, as my daughter walks to the restroom, she same guy peeking at us from the kitchen. This is the worse dining experience I’ve ever had. They made us feel like criminals while dining to make sure that the one who ordered buffet isn’t sharing her food to the ones who ordered a la cart. Parking was difficult. NO, I DO NOT recommend this place. If you want a good Sushi experience in Reno, Try Pier Sushi. Pier’s buffet is a little cheaper and the quality is better and the ambiance better. Oceano inside Peppermill is also one of our fave.

They have the absolute worst, most difficult to read menu, I have ever seen. The sushi was hit or miss. The staff was extremely friendly and upbeat though. They have been in business a few years, so they must be doing something right. It just wasn’t right for me.

I’m disappointed that when at Peppermill we found Sushi Lover on Maps, show up, then they say they’re closed 3-5pm. Yet upon finding them, it says they’re”open” til 9pm. I suggested an edit for today, so hopefully there won’t be any other inconveniences.
