Food is good most of the time. But this time we received very small portions, half of the same order we placed a couple weeks ago. Maybe an off day from chefs?

A few weeks ago I was able to finally try Sushi Lover in Clarkston, Michigan. I went at lunch time on a Friday so it was super fast service and not a lot of people were dining in yet. The food was very good. I ordered the Yum Yum sushi roll, which was absolutely amazing, and beef ramen that had a rich and tasty broth. Definitely both were winners. I’ll be sure to visit again and try other things on their menu. @sushilover_clarkston

I always celebrate birthday dinners here with my mom, her best friend, and my sister and we love it every time. The food is absolutely incredible, but not as incredible as the owner, Sue. She is the sweetest and always has the best energy. P. S. I suggest the dancing crab roll, it’s our favorite!

This place might be located in a little, old shopping center but don’t let that prevent you from stopping in.

Beef ramen looked/tasted like the instant noodles we buy from the Asian grocery store and eat at home regularly – except they added beef. We ordered about 7 different rolls (mixture of raw and not raw) and only really liked one. We ordered other entrees as well, and overall the food is not bad but not anything that I would want to try again. Due to the great reviews we were excited to try this place but was disappointed. The staff however were very friendly.

We tried it for the first time. High expectations. The folks answering the phone were pretty rude. We called twice to put an order in. We waited patiently for the order to go – 40 minutes while no one gave instructions of where to wait. They forgot to give us a house salad, an extra bowl like we asked, and silverware. We couldn’t be greeted by a more disinterested person. Skip the beef Ramen – it was lacking flavor and pretty basic for the price. You could probably make a better one at home with a cup soup instant noodle and your own fixings. We were told there would be veggies. None. The sushi was fine, but overpriced. Won’t be returning. 70$ for 2 people for this meal was not worth it.

Best sushi place around. Love the new owner she is amazing. I wasn’t hired to take pictures but would love to. Owner and staff are super friendly. I’ve been eating at sushi lover for a while now and never had a bad meal. Pictured below is the gyoza, 2pc smoked salmon nigiri, sushi lover roll, yum yum roll, and onion crunch roll. All were exceptional. Well done crew

For as long as I’ve lived in Michigan, this is THE BEST sushi place you can go by far. Amazing customer service and a great menu with a variety of delicious rolls. The way their sushi melts straight in my mouth is what made me call this place the best sushi, it’s well made with a great balance of ingredients. The crunch burrito roll, rolled with soy paper, is definitely the delicacy that I will definitely come back again and again to enjoy.
