What this place lacks in curb appeal is made up for 10x over in quality.

Was in the area and decided to try Sunrise Thai. I ordered Veggie Pad Thai and a Spring Roll. The person who provided my order was nice and the inside of the restaurant itself is very cozy and beautifully decorated.

We ordered two soups with tofo, fresh vegetarian rolls and the almond stir fry with tofu. Everything was excellent! We really enjoyed it. Also got some peanut sauce to go, they do offer and it’s great

My husband and I decided to try this place and all our expectations were exceeded! They have a wide range of menu that I haven’t seen in any other Thai place we’ve been so we tried the curry puffs, duck curry, and wonton soup along with our usual crab Rangoon. All the items we ordered were beyond delicious. They tasted fresh and not greasy. Cooked to perfection especially the Rangoon. The sauce also provided a good balance to the crispness of the Rangoon and puffs. This place is a hole in the wall. The inside is also well kept and modernized. We will definitely come back to this place as this is now our number 1 go to Thai restaurant! Bonus is that the staff were friendly and attentive 🙂

Good flavors however I think they mixed up the hot spice between my boyfriend and I’s plate. I ended up with a much hotter meal than him. Besides that the food was delicious, the seafood fried rice was packed with meat, every bite had a chunk in it. The portions were large resulting in me taking more than half of my meal home.

My gym trainer recommended this restaurant as the best in metro Detroit. I do believe it’s pretty high up there. We ordered fried vegetable rolls, crab rangoon, curry puffs, chicken pad Thai, and the Thai iced tea. The iced tea was the best I’ve had in a long time, so good that even if the food was bad ( it wasn’t, thankfully!), I’d still go back just for the tea. The pad Thai was a bit different from the ones we’ve had and liked, but it had serious flavor going on! I’d like to try it again, but with shrimp & tofu and a little less heat. My husband devoured all the veggie rolls, and we fought a bit over the last crab rangoon. The curry puffs were unique, I’ve never had deep-fried dumplings with curried filling before, so that was also a good experience.

Cute place with just enough room. Front of house staff is always very nice and efficient.

Sunrise opened in a new location today and they have done a great job updating and making the restaurant feel like an eat in restaurant and not just a takeout place. The food is the best we have found anywhere in Michigan. We have managed to try every item on the menu. The curry noodles with shrimp is a house favorite. But don’t hesitate to try anything on the menu.

I will never go there again. I paid $15 for mostly rice. It was completely flavorless even though I ordered medium spice. It was a chicken, beef and shrimp dish and it had one piece of shrimp. They put the white rice in the container with the entree and it absorbed all of the sauce which made the chicken and beef dry. I am highly disappointed.
